pong Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 this yearly event is again going in the Sirikit Exhibition Centre-just beside MRT-stop of same name or walking from the Klong Toey markets/buses-along Ram IV. Bargains galore- for about anything travel-related you can imagine, both domestic in Th and to outside. An impressive large stand from Japan- some Thai seem to have anough money to go there. Lots of handsome students working and showing off their english skills. But I showed off mine in bahasa and got VIP-treatment from GARUDAair and the Malay tourist board. There are also some free shows. NOKair offers special prices domestic tickets for 1100 bt/all in and AirAsia does a 20% discount. But you better had booked last week for their special offers week. Entry is free, but the safety checks on entry are quite heavy this year. Also they now have you walk via a set-up stalls area selling anything travel-related before you can enter via the side-entry. This is TH so there are also scores of food-stalls, many from respected 4/5* HTLs. The foodcourt of this centre-easily one of the very worst TH had on offer, is revamped and improved, but prices hae gone skyhigh- 60 bt the minimum-for a noodlesoup that sells for 15 bt here around the corner.
