pong Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 since years and years I come to TH just to ESCAPE that Xmas thing. I do not want tesco carols, no jingling bells-plus that noone even seems able to conceive that not any farang is english or english bred and shuns that ''tipical'' Xmas food-we have our own type. Why not schoener nacht- heiliger nacht? A streetside stall with a 30 bt plate will likely be it. And-thanks cheap airfares- I fly back on 25th- on some mainly muslim airline, so we'll see what they make of it. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 since years and years I come to TH just to ESCAPE that Xmas thing. Living in Bangkok, where do I have to go - apart from North Korea - to escape that Christmas thing? Much of it drives me up the wall, hearing the same dozen carols and cheesy Christmas songs, often in lousy arrangements and performed on synthesisers - all repeated ad infinitum, ad nauseam. But kudos to Starbucks where, in addition to avoiding carols, I heard part of Corelli's lovely Christmas Concerto and some nice Bach the other day! Bah! Humbug! Quote

I always feel so sad for the guys who hate christmas I had such a loveing childhood with so many wonderful memories its a shame some guy could not bare to think of this period in there life, I do know others who feel so lonley and lost when they hear christmas carols, Im sure there is some one out there you can share this time with you even if its just a fake hook up. Have you thought of giving some one much less fortunate as you a happy time or do as I do pick a few poor guys and give them 1000 baht out of the blueespecially if they dont drink alcohol or take drugs, when I use to live in the UK I use to give out 50 pounds to a few genuine homelss guys it was amazing to se there faces if every oone did the same just think of all the happy guys around youncould make with out asking anything in return. Happy christmas and wishing you can make some poor sole happy for the new year Quote

Dear Sirs, With respect I think you have lost the plot, what I am talking about has nothing to do with Religion, the Christmas story is a fable or fairy tale, like all the things written in the Bible by the Monks at that time, Its the lovely times we had at Christmas with our families and loved ones, I Quote
