Again red mobs=demonstartions

Now I do not want to start panick and all that-and when you happen to live just a few 100 mtrs on you would not even have notticed, but the last 3 weekends the redshirts -and possibly other groups, are on demonstrations again.

Came back into BKK on last sun in nov- the afternoon there were the familiair trucks with flag waving redshirts and their overloud blasting music riding around along Ratchdamnern-then just being opened up for the festive week for HM's birthday celebrations.

On sat 10/12=constitution day, the redhsirts were having their mob (this is just a neutral Thai word for any demonstration) around the monument for the democrazy, from late afternoon, staring with the butch-like massageladies setting up. Prime goal seemed to be selling the 2012=2555 (hahaha!) calendars and many Tshirts in red with Lady lucky crab (phoo yingluck) on them, telling: she is RICH -she is BEAUTIFUL -she is OUR MAN! but I have not seen anyone wearing that out of those mobs yet.

Not that many comers and even though they like to disrupt traffic etc as much as possible with as few as possible followers, not much could be done even. Overloud music and a few of those speeches, alas they can not now ask for Abhisit to step down.....

Yesterday eve again at same place-but I am not sure what group it was, as red was not much to be seen, nor the butchy massage ladies (otherwise you an avail of their services in the Big C at Lard prao-opposite soi 94, halfway near the exprway). Overlud music and the usual speeches and sympatising rockband, but it was pretty early done.

Pong, i hate to seem obtuse, but I am very sorry to say that I continue to have difficulty comprehending much of what you write. I usually just gloss over every one of your posts, although it is obvious you know what you are talking about and have a valid point to make. I don't mean to offend you, and I really do try, and also understand that English is probably not your native language, but this sentence is typical. What is a "sympathizing rock band," and what do you mean by "pretty early done?" :(

Edit: My best guess after giving it some thought is that perhaps you mean the rock band's lyrics favored the protester's point-of-view. By "pretty early done?" did you mean the assembly only lasted a short time or perhaps the spell checker should have inserted "pretty over-done?"

Pong I understood perfectly and I appreciate your posts. It is great to have someone on ground giving us his opinions of what is going on there. Much appreciated.

I can understand your unstated but obvious concern at the impolite tone of Khun Thaiworthy's remarks but the announcement that you "undertood perfectly" the OP's post is a somewhat of a strange way to suggest that. And, perhaps, a bit unbelieveable in some quarters.

As for Pong's apparent political proclivities let alone his method for stating same, I'll abstain for the moment in commenting on those issues and, instead, ask Pong the following:

(1) Do you believe that the yellow shirts are any more or less of a "mob" than the redshirts?

(2) Do you believe that there are more or less "butch-like massageladies" in the group that occupied Government house (and/or the international airport) than are or have been demonstrating in Bangkok or elsewhere?

(3) And, much more importantly, do you believe that the redshirts espouse more of a concept of democracy than the military, elite, or others who engineered or supported the coup? And, if you want, is espousing democracy even a good thing?

My dearest Bob,

I have a Thai boyfriend that I Instant message with, chat with and phone with often. I also supervise a team of over 10 full-time workers in India and deal with them on a daily basis. With all the above, English is not their native language. I learned over the years to understand more than most as I need an understanding to do my daily business.

I can understand Pong so much easier than I can someone from an English speaking country with poor grammar and spelling skills. (although my skills in both areas also need lots of work due to my dyslexia)

No doubt, Michael (I'll omit the "dearest" even though you are one of the good guys), that you can understand more than most although the "perfectly" was a little arrow obviously pointed elsewhere. But, neverminding all that, let's see if Pong is willing to respond to the questions posed above so at least your dearest (a poor slob with no Indian supervisees but who converses in person with the beloved and other Thais every day) can better understand what position he's making an effort to espouse.

LOL Good post.

Is espouse one of those cities near Barcelona? I do love it there in the summertime.

God, you almost gave me a heart attack there. I use this particular word probably more often than most (heck, don't you "perfectly" understand it?) but, for a moment, you had me wondering. I knew it meant to advocate for or support a cause (the only meaning I was aware of) but it also (I just checked) has the archaic meaning of "to marry."

Now, given somebody archaic called me dearest (blush, blush), I'm hoping he's not too disappointed when I say "NFW!"
