Tailor Thread

Excuse the pun, but I'm starting another tailor thread.

Pattaya has a short row of working tailors, just behind Tuk Com, up the road past Baan Dok Mai.

Not the type of places with showrooms, rather places where they actually do the tailoring and are happy to do small modifications for very small sums of money.

Does anyone know of similar shops in Bangkok, preferably Silom?

I'm after small & swift modifications only, not suits or any of that kind of thing.

I have used one small tailor with a shop on upper Silom between Saladaeng and the entrance to the Silom Complex car park. He made trouser alterations for me which were fine. Making shirts from a sample provided was less successful, though.

This isn't much help, but I gave up looking for a tailor a long time ago. I'm sure they exist, I just can't find them. All the tailors that ever were are only interested in selling me a suit. It got so exasperating, I just decided to have my tailoring done when I'm in the states. If there are any more than the one FH suggests, I wish they'd make themselves known. Tailor is a misnomer in Thailand, they should be called suit-sellers. :o

Thank you. So this is on the same street as the Saladeng BTS station? (I'm not quite sure where the car park is)

The ones near Tuk Com have met my requirements for small modifications. I have no interest in tailored suits.

Yes. It's on the same side as Silom Complex and the Dusit Thani Hotel. The car park is just beside Silom Complex - so it's in the block between Silom Complex and Soi Saladaeng.

For a real tailor work, there is only Narin in Sukkumvit.

Not cheap nor fast.

But the only one whose work approach the make of a european top tailor.

In most cases, you have a better product in the so called "bespoke" rtw from Italy.
