TRUE Visions died?

For the last 90 minutes, I have had no satellite signal from either of my set top boxes. I have tried calling TRUE's hotline but it is always engaged. Is anyone else experiencing this in the Bangkok area?

The hotline remained engaged, but the signal returned after a gap of around two and a half hours. Now how do I go about getting a rebate from TRUE?

can't survive without TV for a few hours one morning - perhaps you need to cancel your subscription and get a life rather than trying for a rebate?

now if it was your Internet connection I would be right there with you storming the true portals demanding restoration of service

Bkkguy, not a very nice reply. What compels you to post a comment like this? I don't think it serves any particular purpose to discredit anyone publicly, and FH is one of most meritable posters on this board. Yet you chose a funny little side comment to harp on. The subject of this thread is not about rebates, it is about the consistency of service and what others are experiencing:

Well, at least you are consistent:

I don't post here because I want people to like me or my attitude - and the attitude tends to get worse as the waffling gets worse - I post here to give useful alternative opinions when people are posting crap, and I will leave it to others to decide for themselves how useful this is even after deducting brownie points for attitude!

Does one sentence constitute a waffle?

It's always interesting when people jump to conclusions. And bkkguy's conclusion is perhaps understandable. But let me explain. Most days, I could not give a damn about television, especially in the morning when I usually have some work to do or a meeting to attend. But it no doubt escaped bkkguy's attention that the New York stockmarket soared dramatically last night - 4.24%. Where the NYSE goes, Asian markets normally follow. Since I need some urgent cash by next week, I decided to sell some of my Hong Kong stocks today. CNBC Asia and Bloomberg may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I find the comments sometimes interesting, especially when there is considerable market volatility. I can check selling prices on the computer, but with much less information overall. That is what pissed me off!

And by the way, bkkguy, I happen to think my life is pretty interesting and exciting. I don't propose to change it.

Oh, that has happened on quite a few occasions - the last time for more than 24 hours. On that occasion, I did manage to get through to an operator and argued with him for more than 55 minutes about the appalling TRUE service. Of course it was not the poor guy's fault, as I stressed on several occasions. But since TRUE had screwed me, I was at least going to have the satisfaction of tying up one of their operators for a time

Thanks for your comments, thaiworthy. But bkkguy is entitled to express his opinions. He may have felt I was "posting crap" - to use his own words. But I defy him to say my 38-word post was "waffling". On some other posts, however, there may well be some wisdom in his words. :o

so you can jump to whatever conclusions you want to about my knowledge of the NYSE or Asian stock exchanges but I should have somehow intuited that you "needed cash" and "like CNBC Asia and Bloomberg commentary" and that was the only reason you needed true TV access rather than unjustifiably assuming the more obvious lack of life reasons - forgive me for not cowering in the corner and apologising to "one of most meritable posters on this board" but I think if you and thaiworthy want to get your respective knickers in a such a knot about my post then I think you both need to get a life!

again I will leave it to others here to judge how much respect each comment here should get!

You're on about life again! I've already made it clear I am perfectly happy with mine, as I assume you are with yours. Oh, but then, you'll probably say that's jumping to conclusions!

I should think anyone reading my last post would have difficulty reading into it any implication that my knickers are in any sort of knot. I started this thread about TRUE Visions and my posts are about the service of TRUE - not about false assumptions and petty nitpicking.

How much "respect" others have for the attempted but failed putdown of poster FH? Sorry, none in this corner.

Yours gets none from me.
