PattayaMale Posted November 5, 2011 Author Posted November 5, 2011 Again, I thank everyone for the continued feedback. It helps me clarify in my mind what people may like to see. The vision I have is still evolving helped by all the comments. One part has been taken off the list of forums all ready is the "Bitching" forum. The reason is not that I mind good debate. But I do not like personal attacks that bitching sometimes revolves into. There is a big untapped (I think) group of people that are almost instantly turned off of the present boards. It is not because there is anything wrong with the present boards at all. But they do tend to cater to those of us that live here in Thailand, are familar with the commercial sex industry, and are older (LIKE ME) My HOPE is to attract the crowd that is younger, gay or who has gay friends that are not really looking at mainly the commercial sex industry. I know of 3 younger friends (21-23) that are planning to visit Thailand soon. I know they are not planning their vacation around the bars, but would not mind at all seeing what the commercial gay scene is like, but not interested in just that. They would like to travel around, go to the mountains and such biking and holidaying but would prefer to meet people their age that are not into the commercial scene. That is my HOPE. Quote
KhorTose Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Gaybutton runs his board the way he sees fit. It is his board and if you don't like his rules don't go there. I have never understood why anyone would have a problem with that. You know up front what he is, what he expects and to be shown the door the instant you cause a problem. He tells you this up front. He is clear in his objectives. It is his board. He is the owner and he makes all the calls. He says this. No one should get upset with him on his board for doing what he tells you he is going to do. It isn't rocket science. He is in control. He has an Iron Fist. If he doesn't like your posts he will delete them without question. Knowing this at the onset, no one should ever get upset with their posts on his site. Up front???:?" I got kicked off his board for a comment I made on another board, or have you forgotton that conversation If you call that up front, please never be my lawyer. Along that line I have received two Pms agreeing with my comments by other people that know if they say something bad here they are gone from his board. Up front my ass. Quote
Guest Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Please can we try not to import disputes from other boards? We don't need that to be an excuse for personal attacks here. If you don't like another board, the simple answer is don't use it. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 If you don't like another board, the simple answer is don't use it. Precisely. That's the bottom line. And while I am emotionally sympathetic with KhorTose, (for reasons that really are irrelevant), Michael is also profoundly correct. Boards are like automobiles in a manner of speaking: If you are a passenger in someone's car and don't like the scenery or the way they are driving, it's time to get out and walk. I would hope PattayaMale decides to ignore all this bitterness and design something special and unique that he can be proud of. But that might be difficult, in my view, with or without an iron fist. Guest xiandarkthorne Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I have to agree with Z909 regarding GB and the GB board. It is one of the most important reasons why I am also a member there and post there fairly often. Quote
TotallyOz Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I know of 3 younger friends (21-23) that are planning to visit Thailand soon. They should contact my friends at Bangkok Vanguards. Thais their age and nothing to do with money scene. I have posted several videos on this site about them and their facebook link in the past. A group of guys that love Thailand and raise money for charity. Quote
PattayaMale Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 @Michael Thanks I will pass that on! Quote
PattayaMale Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Thanks to all of you that have given me suggestions and comments about a new Board. I do now have a 'skeleton' in place have I have asked a very few number of friends to register to help me learn if the functions are working correctly. Learning how to create a Board has been interesting for me to learn. I am doing it myself. I have never done anything like this before and am grateful for the help other Board owners have given me. It is a SLOW process for me. So please understand that it may be a few months. Thanks again! Quote
