There were several massage places I saw with sexy boys and I know they would do private. I was curious if there were any gay bars in this area? discos? gogo? anything? On another note, does anyone live in this area? Lived there before? What do you think? Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I have a friend who has lived in BKK since the mid-80s. He has been in the Thonglor area for some years and absolutely loves it. He's not gay and so I have not asked about gay venues. He says the only problem is traffic if you are depending on taxis to get around. If you take the Skytrain to Thonglor station, on the other hand, it's easy getting transport up and down that long soi. The boyfriend of another friend often goes to a disco there with his friends on Sundays. It's not exclusively gay but there are lots of gay guys there, apparently. Quote

The somewhat hidden real Thai/Bkk Yuppie enclave. There are probable negatives too: (but this is all from 2nd hand-for me thats way too far out and too hi-so): farang unfriendly (not fiendish-but youll be looked as just another weird plant or so), hi-nose to anyone who dares to arrive on foot or motosai and not in his golden wheeled BMW (often nicknamed soi ''golden wheel''=thong lor'' due to that). But again: this is BKK/TH: all things are just vague and there is no US-style policy-enforcement or dressing rules or whatever. 2 people are bound to have different opinions. Quote

That is why he recommended that we get the larger burger. He also talked several things about Thai customers. Lastly, there were many others tables filled and at least half were from Thai customers. So, I can now see that scene and understand what that happened according to your statements. Quote
