It's not an uncharitable comment. I, for one, don't care to wade through all of these irrelevant posts.

I know some members who have left the forum as a result.

and where did they go to get the type of invaluable information found in this forum ?

I highly doubt that there are alternative places to get this kind of information that is tailored specifically to our target - gay males looking for fun in Asia and South America.

Because they didn't like articles they didn't have to read?

If you don't like some articles in your daily newspaper do you stop reading it?

In any case, Keith, they'd be welcomed back with open arms I'm sure.

I don't like diet coke and cola zero but it doesn't mean  I should inform wide public about that every time somebody mentions those in the post.

Yes, to first paragraph.  Second paragraph is not a valid comparison. Although I have given up a newspaper for that reason.  Third paragraph, OK. If all the articles were interesting,  it wouldn't be so bad. I think most people would like to see articles that have some connections  with gay life in-Thailand.

I watch the BBC news nightly and I find some of the items of much interest and some not at all. Same with PBS and other networks). But on the whole, I'm satisfied. They can't, after  all, prepare the news with just me in mind.

I'm reminded that the moderator designed the Beer Bar specifically for items not about gay Thailand. There are other forums for Thailand and other places where you can find the news you're looking for. Many readers enjoy reading about current events in the counties we visit. I appreciate that you (and others) wish to see only gay-related items. I hope you find satisfaction on the other pages.

Happy holidays, Keith!

This is a gay site, not a news site. Formerly called Boytoy, it is now GayGuides. The further afield it goes from items of gay interest, the less interesting it becomes to many guys. There are newspapers after all.

I did not suggest censoring @reader but simply moving his news clips to their own section.

isn't it you who asked about periodontist recommendation in another thread ? There was no mention if requirement for him is to be gay .

Somebody directed  you to  a proper place without neither commenting about irrelevance of question on the  gay forum nor directed you to a search engine.

Guys, guys! Settle down! I am not trying to censor @reader. But I do want to keep the site focused on being a gay site. You can see for yourself that it is the same old people posting all of the time. We need new blood- gay blood! There are tons of straight sites already. Why move this toward that?

Merry Christmas. @vinapu, consider taking Christmas Day off from posting! Do something Christmasy!

Thank you, Merry Christams to you too and hope Santa will be generous with this years gifts.

I just came home from Christmas supper with familiy and friends  and about to go for a traditional midnight mass, one can't be more Christmasy than that  !

As for taking Christmas Day off from posting suggestion it will be given consideration in due course , not sure which Christmas day you have in mind , 2025 or 2026 ?

So if these same old guys stop posting, many young young will take their place?

Your logic may escape me but I wish you a Merry Christmas and fun-filled White party!.

And thanks for giving this thread another bump. Your Christmas gift to me, no doubt. 🎄

(And your fifth contribution to this thread in the Beer Bar! You might just qualify as one of us "old people.")

It’s a free cuntry but let's be real. One person apparently predominantly enters 'beer bar' topics arbitrarily and somewhat geographically centric, approaching the level of board tradition, and there will inevitably be a 'red stripe' slashed through the practice by some that find the themes to be irrelevant. So who’s to stop somebody perpetually wielding on any one hill?

But if a dozen more were to replicate the pattern, say, Brazilian Report articles and several more thematically centric posts but across a broad range of entry types to infinity the subforum would collapse under overwhelming mixology.

What is not lost on me is that one person dictates content through which I must selectively wade and others dictate that such selectivity is everybody's prerogative. Two reaction categories can co-exist and no one preference can prevail. Not this hill.

No member I'm aware of goes more out of his way to welcome newbies than Vinapu. He never fails to reply to their queries.

Just paying back for the welcome I received when I joined
