Popular Post Jimbillp Posted Friday at 06:37 PM Popular Post Posted Friday at 06:37 PM I thought worth a new title as this place bound to be much talked about. At behest of Vinapu I attended opening night of new bar Atlas. It is opposite Hot Male on site of previous Sol and Dreamboys. In summary it is Tawan moved to a bigger and better venue. Focus on muscle and seemed to be largely drawn from previous staff and performers at forementioned. Show had same ingredients as I recall from Tawan - Bodybuilding displays - then ladyboy singers, aiming for comedy - Then the muscle show and as explicit as you see these days with blow jobs and one twink being fucked and toward end the tip for cum show. - also the big cock and floor boy rotations Mix of boys - Some genuinely good muscle, some a bit hefty, odd twink, oldish on whole and same approach of being very interactive with audience - Joining for drinks and circulating for big cock show. it helped there were some guests, including Vinapu’s friend, who opened bottles and were tipping - also a very generous Chinese man giving red notes infinitum and cans of soft drink. This creates ambiance and reduces the sense of pressure on others Audience maybe 40 patrons over evening. Very, very few women. if you liked Tawan, you will like this place Question is can they rebuild that ‘offer’ and will they see inevitable closure of ‘the one’ which replaced old Tawan. Great job jimbillp ! very thank you. It would be better if those bars co-existed instead of one cannibalizing other but that is beyond anybody's control as too many factors are involved - bosses, boys , customers and boys in brown. Certainly it gives Atlas much better exposure than kind of niche location The One enjoys. Quote
Travelingguy Posted yesterday at 01:35 AM Posted yesterday at 01:35 AM Perhaps the owner(s) of Atlas saw an opportunity with the current (mis)management of The One that seems to be alienating customers as many on this forum have attested to. Hopefully people will find Atlas to be more welcoming. That would be better for customers and workers. floridarob, jamiebee and vinapu 3 Quote
jason1975 Posted yesterday at 02:12 AM Posted yesterday at 02:12 AM Thank you for report on 1st night of new bar! This bar will bring life to the street and might even make the whole stretch rival soi 4 as gay Bangkok in future! If only a gay bar will take over Virgin opposite Foodland.. jamiebee 1 Quote

They had glitches but wasn’t bad for opening night. They do need to think about a few things and refresh. Second drink at 500 is too steep. it’s also made the road outside even more congested. Four sets of barkers almost on top of each other, but that critical mass can help all too. jamiebee and vinapu 2 Quote

It was meant to be picture of outside of bar with lights on. But hasn’t uploaded correctly vinapu 1 Quote
jason1975 Posted yesterday at 03:03 AM Posted yesterday at 03:03 AM Does Atlas collect fee for entrance and drink upfront at counter like at Tawan, Jupiter and Moonlight? 500 baht I presume? vinapu 1 Quote

Kiwi306 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Well, it certainly sounds exciting, but, by the same token, it would be sad to see the demise of Tawan, which I understand has been the longest running gay gogo bar in Silom. It was certainly the first bat I ever visited in Bangkok. I guess many of The One boys will end up at Atlas. jamiebee 1 Quote

My only purpose in visiting Bangkok is for the Food, Sightseeing, and Tawan Muscle Body Builder type boys. It's sad that things are going downhill for The One/Tawan due to mismanagement and may be lack of drive from the boys themselves. Now that there is a competitor, I hope they up their game. Otherwise, they will be swept along with other bar closures and be forgotten completely. I hope I see more Trip reports of Atlas thriving. Quote
