FunFifties Posted Wednesday at 06:53 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:53 PM Hi, Will be going to Thailand and Cambodia soon and would like to find a tailor and an optician in Bangkok that I can place an order with at the beginning of my trip and pick up around 3 weeks later before I return home. At the tailor's I would like to get 2-3 pairs of chinos, 2-3 shirts and perhaps a suit. At the optician's I am hoping to buy a pair of glasses and a pair of shades with my prescription. My challenge with the optician is that my head is quite big so I need to find a place that has a selection of frames that will fit. Any reccomendations please? Quote
vinapu Posted Wednesday at 11:19 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:19 PM my last three pairs of glasses are from Bangkok and last time I used quite big shop on Silom by soi 1. Not sure what it's name is but it's quite prominent and well stocked. English was spoken. You may try there FunFifties 1 Quote
Members tm_nyc Posted Thursday at 01:25 AM Members Posted Thursday at 01:25 AM My impression is that eyeglasses & frames are not much cheaper in Thailand than in the US, because of the import duties, I guess. I bought lenses in Phnom Penh from Owndays, a Japanese-based eyeware chain. They have several branches around PP. Good value & satisfactory service. reader, vinapu and FunFifties 1 2 Quote
Foolish Posted Thursday at 05:53 AM Posted Thursday at 05:53 AM I had my shirts and pants done at Woolrich in silom. The service and quality is good. A bit more pricey than my old tailor at MBK but I prefer the fit here. FunFifties 1 Quote

Owndays is reasonably priced but there isn't much options if you have a wider face like me... FunFifties and tm_nyc 1 1 Quote

Members Lucky Posted Thursday at 01:27 PM Members Posted Thursday at 01:27 PM How about a periodontist? That's what I am looking for. Quote
AndyUK Posted yesterday at 01:28 AM Posted yesterday at 01:28 AM When staying in Silom, I have used Excelsior tailors and have always been delighted with the clothes they have produced. A tad pricey but quality unsurpassed. FunFifties 1 Quote

Don't know specifically about perio treatment but you could try the Dental Dept of Bumrungrad Hospital. I broke a tooth in BKK back in September & their treatment (on 4 visits) was excellent. Quote
