Guest fountainhall Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Turkish airlines don't do too well on this measure: Neither do THAI and Singapore Airlines, for that matter! A problem with the statistics for all three airlines is that they had fatal crashes with jumbo jets. A cargo door failure on a Turkish Airlines DC 10 downed the jet just outside Paris, killing all on board in the early 1970s. Singapore Airlines crashed a 747-400 as it tried to take off from Taipei for Los Angeles in a mild typhoon about 10 years ago. For some inexplicable reason, the pilot had turned on to the taxiway. As he took off, he saw construction equipment half way down. Like the KLM pilot in the Tenerife crash, he tried to take off early - without success. And THAI had two wide bodied A310s crash in the 1990s. Quote
Guest aot87 Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I dont know how thai got up that high, none of their 747s which fly most of their long haul routes, have got screens in the back of the seats, so you are left with the old drop down ones Quote
