Thais and foreigners arrested for producing and distributing explicit content

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) launched the “Cut the Rabbit: Crackdown on Sex Creators” operation, arresting seven individuals, including foreigners and Thai nationals, for creating explicit content and distributing it online, December 9.

Following a directive from the National Police Chief to intensify the fight against transnational crime, CIB’s Human Trafficking Division tracked online platforms and uncovered a network using Thailand as a base to produce and distribute pornography worldwide. The police obtained court warrants and raided several locations, resulting in the arrest of seven suspects.

The first suspect, Benjamin, a British national, was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport. He was responsible for creating content that enticed Thai women to ride tuk-tuks before engaging in sexual acts at tourist locations, which he advertised on X (formerly Twitter) and shared on his website, with over 140,000 followers.

The second suspect, Volker, a German national, was arrested at his residence in Banglamung, Chonburi. He created content featuring foreign nationals having sex with transgender individuals who had not undergone gender confirmation surgery. This content was shared on X and the OnlyFans platform, reaching over 150,000 followers. Two Thai transgender individuals were also arrested for their involvement.

The third suspect, Svezdan, a Serbian national, was arrested at a condo in Banglamung. He produced content involving foreign tourists and Thai women or transgender individuals engaging in sexual acts, including collaborations with famous Thai sex creators. His content, shared across X, Instagram, TikTok, and OnlyFans, amassed over 200,000 followers.

The fourth suspect, Andrei, a Russian national, was apprehended at a condo on Rama 4 Road. He created group sex content with foreign nationals and Thai individuals, which was then promoted on social media with over 600,000 followers.

Thai nationals Thanasilp, 30, and Saengthian, 26, were arrested at different locations for creating similar content involving male participants. They filmed explicit acts and promoted them online, charging viewers for access to exclusive groups.

The final suspect, Rattana, a 36-year-old Thai woman, was arrested in Banglamung. She produced content promoted on X and OnlyFans, gaining over 200,000 followers.

Of the six suspects arrested, all confessed to the charges, except Benjamin, who denied distributing the videos, claiming he only filmed them and sent them to a friend abroad for uploading. (TNA)

Consenting or not, it’s illegal, though a challenge to suppress so perhaps somewhat surprising when it makes the news.

Is "obscene" defined elsewhere? I personally wouldn't consider sex among consenting adults obscene. I would consider sex with children and/or animals obscene, obviously.

The standard is the characteristic of being ugly, indecent, and shameful. It is subjective and case judgement decisions have gone in various directions because the definitional criteria are ambiguous. I believe we tend to label this type of thing a shit show. 

Pornography depicting children has its own category within the penal code. It is not ambiguous because age is objective. Although age is not specified within the child pornography section of the law I would assume it follows that of consent, age 15 years as specified in sexual assault law. Besides which, the producers of pornography casts of legal age are potential targets for charges. 

Obviously the recent charges were cherry-picked for some reason, perhaps simply as a deterrent however futile. I believe they were noteworthy for broad dissemination for profit. 

There is only one Moonlight model for which I have unearthed brief porn clips, solo and collaborative. The partners’ faces where involved were blurred out, not his. Explicit erection and ejaculation. I have no idea whether these were produced for profit.

I don't think that almost anybody believes that sex among consenting adults is ugly, indecent, or shameful. If that were the case, the human race would no longer exist. The only people who actually believed that, at least to my knowledge, belonged to a religious group called the Shakers. They renounced all sexual activity in its entirety. They were able to recruit a few nut-cases, primarily during the 19th century, and tried to sustain a community by adopting orphans into their communities. Under no circumstances were any men and women allowed to cohabitate. In fact, if visiting married couples needed to pass by their community and rent rooms, the husband and wife had to stay in separate buildings. Unsurprisingly the sect essentially died off towards the end of the 19th century. For obvious marketing/sustainability reasons, almost every other Abrahamic religion heeds the apparently God-inspired admonishment to "be fruitful and multiply."

The only comment I could add was that, among the adopted children, not just many, but most chose to leave the community. Only a tiny fraction of people believe that adult sex is ugly, indecent, and/or shameful.

definition in obscene is very dynamic and moves with times.

Once as a child playing  I dropped stone  on my toes and said something suitable i considered for  for a child and occasion. My grandmother present to me that in her youth  such word was only used by lowest of low lives and even that only when drunk
