Guest fountainhall Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 From time to time there have been threads with posters' views on minimum tips. I often get the impression that some guys have a particular tip in mind and that is what is offered, irrespective of the service - unless it is really dire. Whilst I see nothing wrong with that, I wonder how many will increase the tip is the service is particularly good or beyond expectations? In other 'service' industries, I sometimes give more to a bellboy or a waiter if I think the service has been particularly helpful - or even when the smile has been especially warm The same is true if I take someone from a bar or enjoy a massage and have a really good time. Is this what most others do, I wonder? Quote
Guest Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 I do increase the tip slightly if it is merited. However, that's only by 25% or so. Also, I've only once paid a gogo dancer less than my normal tip. I should probably be much more prepared to cut tips by 30% or add 50% depending on how well things go. Quote
kokopelli Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Same-same as z909, I may increase tip a bit for a more pleasurable service. Usually the basic tip plus a couple of hundred for food, taxi , etc. Rarely do I reduce the tip for services rendered except for a dire experience. But with massages, the tip does depend on the pleasure received although I do have a minimum I pay. Quote
TotallyOz Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 I have a set fee I pay for things. One price for massage and JO, one for BJ and one for fucking. I always give the same no matter where I am in Thailand. If someone is great, I give more. However, I separate the money so they understand it is not an every day occurrence. I'll hand them the money for services and say "this is for short time." I then hand them 100 baht for taxi and say, "this is for taxi." I'll then hand them a tip and say, "this is for you to buy present today." If I see someone over and over, I rarely give the "present" every time. It is done if they are great. I am always clear when I give "present" and say, this is not the same I give every time, only for today. That is true to an extent depending on the boy. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Only once did I not leave a tip and that was for the company of a boy to sit with me at Wild West Boys some time ago when it was at its old location. I called the dancer over from the stage and he immediately starting talking to his friends a good 10 feet away. He was completely turned around the whole time I was with him, even when I held his hand, hoping he would talk to me instead. It did not deter him and he kept on chatting with his friends. After a half hour of this, I paid my bill, got up and left and never returned to Wild West Boys. I doubt he even knew I left and not sure he even told me his name. Quote
Guest luvthai Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I will tip alot better with good service and also if I would like to see him again. An added bonus to tipping better as the boys know and respect someone that treats them good and tell others making you a little more popular. Quote
