Guest patpat Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I've recently made a few visits to Sansuk Sauna in Pattaya, and have found it to be a clean and pleasant place to spend a few hours. The restaurant and foyer are is a nice place to hang out and have a drink or two and a meal. But the main reason I went was to experience the dark room. I actually don't have that much experience in gay saunas in Thailand, though I have been to a few in the U.K. Anyway, I was quite excited about the prospect of having some fun in the dark rooms but, apart from walking into a wall and nearly knocking myself and a few attempted gropes from guys I didn't really fancy, nothing really happened. Whilst there were some people around, there was not as many as I expected in the dark room (or maybe I just couldn't see them). I wondered if there was a particularly optimal time to go, or if anyone has any comments or advice on the place. I definitely intend going back because notwithstanding my lack of sexual encounters inside the place, I really liked the ambiance. I am definitely going to try the Babylon in Bangkok soon, and I can imagine that it is on a much larger scale than Sansuk. The garden at Babylon sounds intriguing. Ironically, I did meet someone, who had been in the sauna, outside on the way home (not a money boy). But that's another story. Quote
Guest josan Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 The best time is ca 5:30pm into the evening when the Thai guys get off from work and out of school. Some evenings are much better than others - you just never know. Quote

Moses Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 2 years I don't visit Sansuk cuz some bad experiences there in past. But in general - "peak time" is btw 5 and 8 PM Quote
Guest patpat Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Thanks to everyone above for their suggestions. Quote
Guest Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I suggest going to the gogo bars instead, as you know the end result is likely to be some nice company. This is far from certain in the Sansuk. When in Rome.... Perhaps the problem is the Sansuk entrance fee might prove rather expensive for many Thais. Quote

I thought the entrance fee was less for Thais than foreigners and that a two-tiered pricing scheme was in place. Quote
Guest josan Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 patpat is correct. Since opening Sansuk has had a reduced fee for Thais. They show their ID card and pay the fee. Quote

colmx Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 There is no "thai price" in Sansuk The discount price is for under 25s (thai or farang) Entry for over 25s in 180 Under 25s is 100 So they are age-ist - not racist Actually this is the same in most saunas around the world... discount to the young so they will atract in the full price older customers Quote
Guest Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 So a Thai working in a shop might have to work 3 hours just to get in. A better strategy might be to have free entry for under 25s who can speak Thai (not racist), then they might have some nice looking lads to brighten up the place. Quote
Guest thrillbill8 Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Sansuk Sauna is no "Babylon" --but the interior is nicely done and kept clean. The food is good and the staff is friendly. True, weekends are better to go in the evenings. I have runned into some Bangkok gays there on weekends - more my type than the skinny fem types that run around at Sansuk trying to pick up an "old" farang. I have better luck picking up someone my type on one of the gay social web sites than Sansuk or going to the go-go bars since I go for the masuline, athletic type over 25 years old. I am not into the "young boy" look. Quote
