Trip report from ichigo

Hi everyone,

I recently arrived in Bangkok and thought I would update with what's been going with me so far. 

The day of my arrival happened to coincide with the Crete Party (which is mentioned in a post in the 'Gay Bangkok' section, thanks to @bkkmfj2648) and seeing it was taking place in the hotel that I was staying at, I thought I would give it a go, despite the hefty foreigner price tag (5500 as opposed to 4900 for locals - although not too much of a difference) and I was in contact with @jason1975 to go together. The arrival time of my flight and the time that registration started was already a little bit tight for timing, but I would be able to make it work. Except that my departing flight was now scheduled to leave an hour late. Okay, so I resigned that I was going to be late. I contacted the organisers and they said this is okay. 

Anyhow, flight on Thai Airways Royal Silk class was smooth and was fed quite a lot of food, landed at 16:15, walking to immigration took a little while but immigration didn't take too long. I think I was eligible for fast track but I didn't worry about it. Luggage came out as soon as I got to the belt (usually I travel light but I thought I would take a suitcase with me this time as I am here for a while), raced down to the basement floor to exchange some cash as I only had 500B to my name, and off I went onto the ARL then switched to the MRT at Makkasan/Petchaburi all the way to Silom. Seeing it was a Saturday night I wasn't expecting the trains to be so full. Yes I could have gotten a taxi but I don't generally take taxis unless I really really have to.

Anyhow, reached Crowne Plaza around 18:15, unpacked a little and changed my shirt (didn't even have time to have a shower, yes gross), and raced downstairs to the Crete Party to meet @jason1975 and @Raposa - first time meeting both and really nice people. I was only an hour and a half late and I didn't miss too much. I won't go into much detail about this part as Jason has already mentioned it in great detail in his trip report, but all in all it was a really nice way to spend my first night back in Bangkok. I had not been here since January of this year.

After the party we went to Jupiter, and whilst not the most favourite of places, the guys are amazingly attractive and some of the shows were quite good. I did have my eye one of the guys, but I was already super exhausted and just really wanted to get back to the hotel and have a shower and catch up on some sleep. I said my goodbyes at around midnight and that was it for the night.

I'd like to also mention that this trip that I'm currently taking is the longest one that I've ever taken - I'll be here for 2 months so I'm just going to take it easy and not be too rushed, and not centre my holiday so much around boys (although there will be quite a number I would like to meet). I'm staying in a number of hotels in Bangkok and also visiting common touristy places such as Pattaya/Jomtien, Phuket, Koh Samui as well as Khao Lak, Koh Yao Yai and Koh Tao (thanks to @bkkmfj2648 suggestion in another thread). 

The following day I had a 2 hour massage at Prime (1 hour Thai/1 hour oil) which was amazing and later on in the evening I met Jason and again other forum member for a drink at Hotmale beer bar which was fun and then over to Dreamboy where we had a booth seat near the front which is where I never sit (I prefer to sit right up the back) but since I am with company, it was good to sit up the front. Upon entering, my favourite boy waved at me and I called him down and we had a nice catch up, and he was happy to see me and happy to be offed that night. The bar was not very full for a Saturday night, but I guess high season is coming very shortly. We watched the shows some of which were new and some recycled but it was good to watch something that I would not be able to in my own country. It was good to gossip with Jason during the show. Boy came back with me for short time and then went to the gym afterwards.

The next day I had another appointment at Prime, 0.5 hour scrub (which he got into every nook and cranny) and 1.5 hour oil which was actually quite sensual and good coverage, with no modesty draping. After lunch I went back to rest at the hotel and was planning to go to Karaoke with Jason and his boys, but I ended up having some stomach troubles so I thought it would be best to stay in, much to my dismay. Luckily it was short lived.

For now, I've now moved into another area of Bangkok, away from Silom, as I've just had some minor surgery so I will probably not be too active in the next week or so whilst I recover, but I am here for a while so plenty of time for more shenanigans. There is just so much to do, and I am just so happy to be back in my happy place!

Glad to go to Dreamboys with you and meeting your regular guy. I have seen him many times in the past when I visit Dreamboys but never got to know him. Sexy muscular toned dancer. Fate conspired for me to bump into him and another Dreamboys guy the next evening during dinner at Foodland. How could I not get up to say hi to them and pick up their dinner bill. If not for my regular guy at my table, I probably would have shifted to sit with them!

Thanks! Indeed, as would many members, but, I think, not all, especially  those who like to force boys down to an uneconomic  fee.

while I agree with you I'd like to recall what I posted recently in another thread. Depending on circumstances, what we classify as uneconomic or outright exploitation , it may still be a life line for a boy.

When I visited ARENA last month I was their last customer for  a day and I was told only 5th that day. It means most of their boys as there were more than 10 flexing when I entered did not even make enough to pay for simple meal, not to mention bus fare.

Yes, but my point was that members who behave as I described are, in my view,  less likely  to be generous with meals.

And as @gayinpattaya said, we think the MB are down and out barely making it..... many if not most do pretty well compared to their peers working in a menial job.

I generally invite the hotel front desk clerks or someone I run into that doesn't worked in a tipped position out to a dinner/drink, no strings attached because they're usually not cute or my type...but are nice people. They appreciate it a million times more than the guys that get handed 100 baht notes just for standing and looking pretty.

Now, I'm not saying being a MB is easy work, I wouldn't want to have sex with anyone here, including myself or Olddaddy, no matter how much he offered me 😆

But they do pretty well, iPhone 16 as a gift or purchased isn't cheap... and those trips and stays at 5* hotels 😳

no idea how those numbers were calculated. 10 offs even at 5000 a pop is 5000 i.e. 1450 $.  I venture to say not many  boys have that many offs although some certainly do. And 5000 tips are not that common either, certainly not 10 times in row. The same goes with all those trips and  5 stars, these are more exception then rule  and none of those trips and fine bedding pays  boys bills and get sent to old folks at home . 

I agree that most do better than peers working at menial jobs  but it says not much. At end of day unless we sit in boys wallet we can only estimate their earnings but I doubt there's reason to be jealous about their earning potential. 

once I offed D from Tawan , one who moonlighted as motorsai driver  during day. When he was getting dressed to go another boy K told me it's D's first off in three months. As he was very passionate in the room I sensed it must be truth.

Not jealous, but no sympathy either.... how many times have you been turned down for Long time or even an off or know someone that has been.....?

It's transactional on their part most of the times, so I keep that in mind, it's a transaction on both sides.....there are exceptions, however they are few and far between these days.

obviously, not everyone suffers from what is reported in this well written report - but do we really know the background history of the guys that we off?

You have a small selection of go go bar royalty that are very popular and can earn a lot of money, they usually graduate from the bar scene pretty quickly and start to bring in money via many other channels such as OF, special appearances at Krubb or other Saunas, and escorting to select clients who are able and willing to pay. Kenvin is an example. 

The clue here is that they are not representative of what the average boy makes in the business.

 I think with the advent of apps, freelancing and the openness of gayness has changed dramatically in the last decade since this was written.... Guy in Manila I was with tonight was talking about his uncle and a cousin forced him to have sex as young as 8-10 yrs old....same thing typically happens in Latin America, this is classified as sexual abuse in the article, which it is, but not trafficking. Lot's to unpack there I'll finish reading it on my fight tomorrow back to the states...

Valid point indeed. Being turned down for LT or even an  off is Ok as it may be another factors then money involved as long as it's done in advance . That I understand unless explanation borders on idiotic like " I need to do laundry tonight " ( really, in May, then 2 days later plead for money claiming he did not eat for 2 days forgetting that next night we had that long time and it was well compensated ).

But way too often  terms of service are not kept and my pet peeve is not even anything demanding - it just expectancy to stick to time  agreed. There's nothing left to interpretation to " 2 hours" or " morning till breakfast" or '' our massage session was paid for 1.50 hr. ". So indeed, at times I find myself feeling no sympathy for their real or perceived plight. Sad but true and I don't think it's my fault.

no, we  don't in most cases indeed. 

Still nothing there explains wanton disregard to agreed terms of service I described in my Aug 2024 trip report. Human trafficking can't e blamed  for guy promising to meet at at 3 pm and at 5pm  cheerfully sending Line " sorry,  I slept in "  or one asking to toilet break , taking his phone with him  and after 1/2 hr there announcing ' my brother called me , I must go now ' and accepting 2500 reduction in agreed tip

A few tidbits whilst I am out of action:

- Whilst walking down Surawong Road last week around lunchtime, an older lady tried to entice me to go to her bar with "many young ladies" and then whispering "blowjobs", whilst I had to respectfully decline, I would like to know where are the boy bars that are giving blowjobs at lunchtime!

- A photo I took at the BTS station, I have no idea what this is advertising but it looks damn sexy:

- I know Jason has already covered the Crete Party in great detail, but another photo won't hurt:

- I'm currently staying near the Wongwian Yai BTS station and on Grindr there seems to be quite a high concentration of African/African American men. I wonder why there are so many in this area?

- I'll be back in Silom in a week or so, so hopefully more stories to come!
