Newbie report on Lagoa

Having visited the day b4 glitzy shiny spacious Thermas Boa in Recife, Lagoa seemed in comparison like a 3-stars run down hotel   )-:

Was glad to get 2 towels, rather than the customary 1. Another nice surprise - credit cards r accepted.

The social space on the 2nd floor was crowded, with a too loud karaoke going on. The bare chested young guy singing on stage was THE most handsome sexy man I've seen in Brazil; unfortunately, not a GP.

The famous see-thru shower on the side was a let down. I had thought it's exclusive 4 use by GPs; turned out 2 b dominated by patrons.

I think I saw 3 straight porn screens while scouting the place, b4 finally sighting gay porn in the last room of the 4th floor. Naturally, it's more important 2 rouse the GPs rather than the patrons.

I like SP more than other cities because a lot of the guys live in the area whereas rio they are always 2 hours away. I invite the Lagoa guys back to my Airbnb at the end of the night and then they can easily go home form there, hate sauna cabins...all of them.

Also SP has a decent restaurant scene with better choices than other cities.....

But can be hit or miss, depending on season, rain, parties or events going on somewhere in the city....flip a coin. But usually can build a list of numbers of regulars that you can call on when nothing is good at the sauna for you. But even on a bad day, it only takes 1...as you found out 😉

Colombia has been good for me, been 3 times this year, although for some reason I've spent months in Asia also visiting 3 times in the last year....I've bought business class tix r/t FROM Asia, they are cheaper that way and it has forced me to come back......however,  I'm kind of in need of a big, functioning cock by now, lol

I've been gone 6 weeks in India, Dubai, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and Manila... 11 cities 13 hotels and am planning March. I want to visit more of India and adding Sri Lanka but might not visit Thailand for the first time in my trips to Asia. Cambodia will probably never visit again but Indonesia is one of my favorite countries at the moment and will be back, probably longer.

Now to try to fit Brasil in somehow

This was exactly my attitude after my 1st trip to Brazil - I think in 2010. I spent one week in Rio and did not like it at all - and having traveled a lot around the world, I thought, ok seen that, goodbye, I don't think I'll return. And then told everyone that Brazil was a disappointment.

Several years later, I had a sabbatical between the jobs and spent pretty much the whole northern winter in Brazil - I traveled all the country and have been almost everywhere. And I loved it then. I've been going maybe once a year since (more during covid as it was the best destination in an otherwise closed-off world). The exchange rate helped to enjoy the country too (when I came in 2010, real was 1.6 to the USD, it's 6.04 today)

That said, unlike for many other forum members, for me SP is the city in Brazil I like the least. As I often travel through GRU, I used to do stopovers, but then I thought, I'd better skip it and fly on as I enjoy other places in Brazil much more than SP

I have posted about a few less common (third-tier) destinations, such as Campo Grande and Goiânia, as well as second-tier cities (e.g., Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre). But it would be great if you can offer insights into places like Maceió, Aracaju, São Luís, Barreirinhas, Jericoacoara, Teresina, Belém!

Many of those travels were during that sabbatical, and I was not posting then. I did post recently though about Fortaleza, Recife and Sao Luis. 

In many other places everything is apps only, or otherwise very underwhelming (like a GP sauna in Belem which was a ghost-like place even those 8 or so years ago when I visited). In places like Barreirinhas and Jeri (which are both tiny) you pretty much are in the tourist central (Lencois Maranhenses are though one of the most beautiful places that I've seen not only in Brazil, but in the whole world - and that's Barreirinhas). Another good non-gay place which is awesome is Lensois in Bahia with its incredible hiking and day trips in Chapada Diamantina. Beaches in Bahia (Taipu de Fora especially) are some of the best I've seen anywhere in the world. Maceio (and vicinities) has stunning beaches too. 

But in terms of gay saunas or places, out of these secondary cities only Fortaleza, Recife and Sao Luis stand out, I think.

do it on the phone speech to text with auto correct.  much easier.
