I understand. There are merits on both sides of the argument. However, my main point was trying to help Jason see why his guy flat out told him "I want you to come to my bar" (instead of just implying) even though they have dinner with each other every day. Of course, the decision on how to act is totally his. I'm also aware that with Bangkok drink pricing, it's costly to help raise the boy's status that way.

Let me share some of my own experiences. I used to have a regular boy in Pattaya's X-boys, who often sent me a message during more quiet nights "Min, please stop by and give me a drink. I have had none so far." To be honest, the only thing I liked about that bar at the time was him so I only set foot inside whenever I want to off him (usually once per week). Other nights, whenever I passed by, I went straight to the stage and tucked 100B in his underwear and then left. Other boys oohed and aahed, and my boy looked proud as a peacock. That was of my way of showing him public support without breaking the bank.

to add to discussion , in some bars  boys may be actually asked to meet some quota   of drinks per week or month.

I know  Tawan tried that at some time in 2015 or 2016  as it was reason my then favorite guy from there left the bar.

Not sure it's still a case

I had brought the chess set from Singapore because I have recently been reacquainted with the game due to the interest in chess in Singapore. Singapore is currently hosting the World Chess Championship between Gukesh (India) and Ding Liren (China) over two weeks.

I believe that the Thai people knew the film as "My Hero" instead of the long film name in English.

I know that this film is partly about checkers, instead of chess - but I saw from your current ongoing trip report that you often go to see a movie during the afternoon - so I wanted to bring this gay film to your attention.  It sheds some light on many Thai cultural traditions (both positive and negative).  I truly enjoyed this film.

Whenever I was at Hotmale Beer Bar at night waiting for shows to start, I noticed many first time tourists looking up. Some even stop to take photos. I had passed by so many times in both day and night but I never looked up. Finally, I looked up and discovered what the first time tourists were intrigued by.

Because I had complained so much about the 30 minute walking to Phoenix Massage last week, forum member agreed that we will take the bus. Unfortunately, the bus took ages to arrive and when it finally arrived, it was packed! We managed to squeeze in. 10 baht per person to Inthamara. Phoenix Massage is on Inthamara Soi 25. The bus stopped at Soi 21. I figured it would stop at Soi 25 or 27 next. But to our horror, it went past Soi 23 to Soi 29 and turned towards the highway! We got off at the next available bus stop and walked back to Soi 25. We reached Phoenix Massage with a great feeling of relief that we had not ended up lost at who knows where in Bangkok. That feeling of relief gave way to feeling of ecstacy when we saw the guys in the shop. Hehehe. I chose my guy and off we went to top floor. En suite shower and decent decor. At 10pm, forum member arrived and we went up to Freshboys. The waiters took my bottle of whisky out and prepared drinks. I saw my regular guy on stage, looking splendid as usual. I scanned the bar. Lo and behold, the new young number 41 was sitting with a customer! He only took the number yesterday. Previously he was number 39 which now belongs to guy who takes part in big cock show. Forum member and I watched the show until midnight and we tipped the big cock show performers. I asked mamasan to get me 3 garlands as I wanted to give to my regular guy and 2 other guys. She came back with ten 100-baht notes stapled together unlike the fancy beauty-queen style sashes with the words 1000 baht that are used at Moonlight and Jupiter. My regular guy was happy to receive the garland but I wasn't happy with the casual way she draped it on his neck with one hand. Next time, I will get waiter to do it properly with 2 hands in ceremonious style. I gave away the 2nd garland but I couldn't decide who to give the 3rd garland so I kept it. I will return tomorrow night to give it away (perhaps no. 41 will be around to receive it?). Forum member and I had to leave at midnight as we had supper appointment with his guy at Foodland. As I exited the bar, I saw my regular guy walking to two Chinese customers who had called him over.

They truly need to upscale their money sash garlands.  These are so popular all over Thailand you can even order money garland kits from Lazada or Shopee.

If you share my bias for Twinks and twunks, IMNSHO you won’t do better than Freshboy. The guys actually make eye contact and smile freely. 

Number 25 is clearly the star of rotation with a great cast of others to keep your eyes glued to the stage.

The acts are well done and LB lip syncing good and infrequent. The attention here is clearly focused on the boys.

AC at comfortable level and no smoking.

You will have more than your share of fun here.

Taxi from BTS Sapan Kwai to Phoenix massage is only 40-50 baht. There are usually plenty of taxis. The north end BTS exit on the right has an elevator down to the front of the IDEO Mix condo. This is a good place to catch a taxi. Tell the taxi driver you want to go to Inthamara 25 (the taxi driver likely won't know Phoenix massage). Get off at the front of the soi and walk there in a few minutes. The front of the IDEO Mix is also a stop for the EV Tuk Tuk service called MuvMi.  MuvMi has a stop at Merlin Mansion on Inthamara 25 near Phoenix.

IMNSHO = In My Not So Humble Opinion, you are soooo modest !

While I don't  share your bias I agree with your assessment of the bar as it confirms my long hold advice that no matter our boy biases we should try to visit every bar at least once per trip . One never knows what and who he may spot there.

as for 25 it must be something as when I was there few weeks ago with emiel,  we independently agreed that #25 is best looking.

Not only fun is to be had at Freshobys  but show is sexy and number of cocks on display generous. 

Mamasan is bit bitchy but responds well to " I like girls" lie and backs down.

indeed do it. I'm curious if bar takes cut or guy keeps it all. I was told in some bars cut is as much as 300.

I still maintain that all that garland hoopla is non-sense but if one has fun  , why not ? After all every night there I drink 1-3 bottles of Chang in bars  at 400-500 a pop while I could have the same taste ( but not the view ) at 41 baht a pop at 7/11.

 ( Speaking about 7/11 and not belonging to this thread so my apologies but there is word that 7/11 returned to top of Boyztown after quite of absence. )

Thank you for the warning about buying bottle at Freshboys. I think it's gross to charge 4000 for a bottle and still request to buy a drink to boy sitting with us. Jupiter seems to have it much, much more user friendly. ( Year 2024 will go to history books as year in which vinapu started singing accolades about Jupiter, I never thought I will live that long )

Agree completely. I haven't come across this before, and I have been buying bottles regularly over the years. I like the ritual and the sociability around it.
