Popular Post jason1975 Posted November 28 Author Popular Post Posted November 28 The cinemas are currently showing The Lord of the Rings series of films as part of 20th anniversary. Perfect way to kill 4 hours in daytime. I hopped on a bus from Silom to Centralworld and watched the 12pm showing of part 1 of the series- The Fellowship of The Ring. Ticket cost 190 baht - cheap entertainment in airconditioned comfort for lazy afternoon. I dozed off twice at the talky parts of the movie. When the movie ended at 4pm, I did some shopping before taking bus back to Silom. I can repeat this same routine for parts 2 and 3 of the series on other days. Forum members in my close group admonished me, saying I could have gone for 2 massages in that 4 hours. Thinking about it, watching a movie and having a massage has certain similarities - you stay inert, your mind switches off, you fall asleep and the end is always climatic! But of koz a massage doesn't cost 190 baht! Ruthrieston, pong2, Verchiele and 2 others 2 3 Quote

Popular Post jason1975 Posted November 28 Author Popular Post Posted November 28 I went back to Airbnb condo to chill for few hours then had dinner at Foodland with forum member and our guys. Towards end of dinner, forum member's guy received Line message from friend. Message showed a photo of us in Foodland. Friend and another friend had passed by and saw us. I realise Foodland is a great location to be seen! I suggested we invite the friends for dinner. They said they have eaten so I suggested beer and pool. They said yes and we went to our favourite pool bar to play pool for a while. At 9.15pm I met my favourite waiter Z and we went to Jupiter as he had never been there before. Mamasan got us front row seats since we were getting bottle service. Z picked Johnnie Walker red. 4300 baht. He says in his bar it's only 2700 baht. I replied its alright. Just enjoy yourself tonight. And enjoyed he did. He liked Poppy the singer, the well choreographed show and the runway walk by the Jupiter models. My regular Jupiter guy wasn't working otherwise I would have invited him to join us. To be frank, Jupiter hasn't changed much in past 2 years - same performances and routines. The predictability made me bored. At least Moonlight refreshes and updates its show every year. Vietnamese waiter with number tag 001 comes to speak to me, "I know who your boy. Freshboys bar. Number 25." Oh no, I have become famous in the Vietnamese community! Z recognises a waiter whom he used to work with at Banana. Twink with number tag 008. They chat and Z introduces me to twink waiter who I discover is half Thai and half Malaysian. Born in Malaysia. "Penang?" I asked which state of Malaysia he comes from. "Yes, how you guess?" Just lucky guess. I spoke to him in Chinese for a while. Cute fellow. I will return to Jupiter just for him. In terms of models, there are several new faces. The bar is half full on a Wednesday night. Z and I stayed till midnight when the models complete their final runway walk for the night. There were 4 runway walks - two in jeans, one in red underwear and another in white shorts. Out of the 20 models at final runway walk, only half of them had number tags. I asked cute twink waiter to keep my bottle of Johnnie Walker then tipped him and mamasans as Z and I made our way out. spoon, VancBCMan, pong2 and 6 others 9 Quote
Popular Post jason1975 Posted November 28 Author Popular Post Posted November 28 We exited soi 4 and turned right towards Silom Edge where Beef had relocated to. The lift took us to 9th floor. Not much of a queue to go inside (just 5 persons ahead of us) unlike the long queue when Beef was at soi 4. Probably because bigger venue. New location has outdoor seating for those who want to take a break from the music inside. Price was 600 baht with 2 free drinks of your choice plus 1 special free cocktail of the night comprising gin and tonic in a cute little glass. No cash accepted though so need to bring credit card or pay through phone. The staff in Beef (DJs and bartenders) were beefy but only half the customers were beefy. There were many regular sized guys such as Z and me. In terms of age, mostly below 40. Locals and many Filipinos (presumably working in Bangkok) made up 2/3 of crowd while the rest were tourists. Wide range of music from Western pop to Thai to K-Pop. Lots of dancing and jumping around and lots of drunk fellas. Z and I enjoyed ourselves a lot. We left 15 minutes before closing time of 2am. I thought of going to Sauna Mania for the first time ever since it was so close but was unsure there would be enough of a crowd on a weekday afternoon. I decided that I will go on a weekend. The good thing about staying in soi 3 is the proximity to local food stalls. Just opposite my Airbnb condo is a Thai boat noodle shop. Open 11am to 7pm and I have gone there twice for their tasty noodles and brothy soup. Only 60 baht! I once asked a Thai friend what he thought of Sauna Mania and he was quite dismissive: “Office girls!” he sniffed. Quote

Popular Post jason1975 Posted November 30 Author Popular Post Posted November 30 Did not spend my Thursday and Friday afternoons at cinema even though I really really wanted to watch Gladiator 2. That's because I promised a guy to visit him at Adam Massage in Soi 4. He had switched to this new workplace from his previous shop in Soi 6 and I became his first customer at 2pm on Thursday. He was happy. I was happy. His new boss was very happy! Friday afternoon was spent at Sauna Mania. I decided that I needed to finally visit this institution since I stay so near in nearby soi 3. Was there for 3 hours plus and would have continued staying if not for the fact that I had dinner appointment. Surprisingly not busy on Friday afternoon. I estimate about 30 people in total in the gym, Sauna, balcony area and the dark maze. It goes without saying that most guys were in the maze! A healthy mix of guys. There were farang, some Asians and Thais equally split. There were even a few gym-fit and good-looking types. No big groups of China guys. In fact, everywhere in the bars and shopping centres, I have noticed that there are not many tourists from mainland China probably because it's not holiday season in China yet. Had some light fun with two guys in the maze. Well worth the price of 360 baht. vinapu, paulsf, BL8gPt and 4 others 7 Quote
Popular Post jason1975 Posted November 30 Author Popular Post Posted November 30 Nights were spent at Good Boys, Hotmale Beer Bar, Dragon and Koi and at finally Moonlight with forum member whom I met for first time. He had wanted to visit Moonlight so I took him and introduced him to the bar, explaining their 1000 baht garland system. He ended up buying a garland for a non-model guy with a charming smile. Only 5 models working on a Friday night - Nicky, Babe, Nut, Mark and Jack. Boss, my current infatuation was not working. Neither was J, my regular guy at Moonlight but I already knew because I had texted him. Sorry, I am back in Laos now. See you next week Tuesday. Popular Post jason1975 Posted December 1 Author Popular Post Posted December 1 Had unforgettable Saturday. Started at 5pm with going Crowne Plaza Hotel for Crete Party. Waited for forum member then we went in together. Locals pay 4900 baht for event but foreigners pay 5500 baht. About 70 to 80 guests. Attired in all black as requested by organiser. 22 models, well known to locals. They appear in advertisements and shows in Thailand. Forum member and I don't know them but we can see their appeal. Some of the models were at entrance taking photos with guests. They were shirtless. I was enchanted by one model and asked him for a photo together and he obliged willingly. I felt like I was in heaven just standing next to him. The other models were also very handsome and hunky. Once we registered, we were allowed to choose our favourite models in a voting contest. "You can choose 5 models." No, I will only choose one and it was the hunk that I took photo with. khaolakguy, BL8gPt, bkkmfj2648 and 5 others 7 1 Quote
jason1975 Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 There was also a counter selling a perfume that was 100% made in Thailand. I smelled the sample, liked it and got a bottle. 1100 baht. bkkmfj2648, vinapu and khaolakguy 3 Quote
jason1975 Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 The event was held in a two storey hall. There was a long stage and stairs next to it. Ideal place for models to make entrance and walk down the stairs to the stage. There was an area for buffet tables and a bar. The main area was filled with 4 round tables with chairs. The remaining chairs were set against the wall. Forum member and I went to get our food from buffet tables. It was a good spread. After all, it's the Crowne Plaza Hotel! We were fortunate enough to grab a good seat at round table facing the stage. We enjoyed our dinner and watched the promo videos of the models on the TV screens. bkkmfj2648, BL8gPt and khaolakguy 2 1 Quote
jason1975 Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 There were two categories of models. There were the 22 main models featured in the promotion but there were also about 10 to 12 models mingling about at the buffet area. They wore white shirts with jeans and were serving guests drinks. Forum member and I thought they were waiters but realised soon they were also models because the guests were chatting and taking photos with them. Midway during dinner, some of these models took off their shirts and they remained shirtless throughout the evening. Forum member commented that some of these models work at high end massage shops. We took the opportunity to chat with them and also took some photos. BL8gPt, bkkmfj2648, vinapu and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Popular Post jason1975 Posted December 1 Author Popular Post Posted December 1 Another forum member then arrived and joined us just in time for official start of the event.
