Guest fountainhall Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Interesting (slightly tongue-in-cheek) article on the CNN website that is a variation on the Seven Deadly Sins. I suppose it’s odd that Bangkok does not feature, but then sex is not a deadly sin! The seven are – Gluttony: Taipei - “Cheap eats, everywhere, day or night” Sloth: Seoul - “Seoul’s Internet has been honed, sculpted, streamlined and sped up to such a degree that no one really needs to move” Pride: Manila - “Filipino men -- they're too busy gazing lustfully into the mirror” Greed: Shenzen - “Shenzhen's philosophy: if you can't make a million, make a billion” Lust: Tokyo - “Tokyo is like a dirty old man in a teenager's body Envy: New Delhi - “India, and its capital New Delhi, has the world's worst case of grass-is-greener syndrome” Wrath: Pyongyang - “Pugnacious, belligerent, quarrelsome ... the North Korean capital is the moody adolescent of the continent” http://www.cnngo.com/explorations/life/asias-most-sinful-cities-174006?hpt=Sbin And it adds a nice little anecdote about the Deal Leader - "Kim Jong Il does claim to have made the world's best ever golf score - an astonishing 38 under par on a regulation 18-hole course incuding five holes-in-one. And that on his first ever attempt, too" Now, how come he wasn't at The Masters? Quote
Guest Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 What kind of sin do we want to discuss? There's the kind that involves having fun & should be encouraged. Sex, alcohol in moderation etc..... Then there are the truly sinful cities, where people are repressed and may even be executed for no good reason. Tehran anyone? Quote
