But I'm not sure if I could bring a boy back without raising an eyebrow... I thought about staying there once when there weren't any other options....they said only registered guests, was some years ago, so check to be sure. Quote

The hotel is a great 5☆ choice and the pool area probably attracts more gays than the old Babylon:) While i was there an asian sugar daddy was being entertsined by 4 hunks. Drinks were flowing freely and all having a great time! I'm headed back to Bangkok for New Years and will try out the Pullman G for a few nights. fedssocr and Raposa 2 Quote

I usually don't aspire to staying in 4 or 5 stars but even budget hotels seem to hit price levels never seen before. Quote
Gottab Posted yesterday at 05:18 AM Posted yesterday at 05:18 AM Same. Unless the hotel is the destination I'm generally happy with much cheaper options. I generally stay at The Rose for the price, location, amazing pool and staff discrection. vinapu 1 Quote

I stayed a couple of times at Pullman G - love their style and they are conveniently located; and they have excellent Wi-Fi But after all those years it really deserves some refurbishment. Also the pool area is far too small imo given the size of the hotel. At least they still have competitive prices unless you want to pay a ridiculous premium for access to executive lounge. Good for you ! For me their rates all are ridiculous premium but I'm cheap skate when comes to accommodation and probably on much lower income level too. At the same time I haste to say I understand people who like to treat themselves and splurge on something better, after all it put our hard earned money at work Quote
spoon Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I always seek value for money when seeking hotels. That means i will spend more if i get huge discount at 5 stars hotel with all the perks, instead of choosing normal priced 2 star hotel with no perks, and lack of comfortable bed. My low limit has usually been the cleanliness and comfortable bed and thats usually excludes many of the lower ends hotels unless it is recommended by members here. Having said this, ive stayed in nantra silom, which i find below my standard mainly due to cleanliness. It could be just my luck with the room that i got though. Ive also stayed in pullman G, which i agree with the comment here that it needs a timely refurbishment. But in my case, i did get a free access to their lounge, with higher floor rooms, so money well spent. My all time favorite hotels for best bang for bucks has always been furama silom deluxe room, with raya grand deluxe a close second. Furama won on better and modern decor, better view, exceptional roof top pool, with bigger selection of breakfast. Raya won on location, location, location. I always compare prices between the two, and usually furama win. On high season, raya always fully booked anyway, so my decision is much easier. Away from silom, ive stayed at Nikko hotel thonglor, Hilton Sukhumvit, Hilton Millennium, Eastin Grand Sathorn. Ive no complaint about any of these hotels so far other than their prices which is usually in the higher end of what im willing to pay. I do have a loyalty card with hilton so i usually booked them on my last day for their free late check out. So far, ive considered le meridien, siam kempinski, standard, W, crowne plaza new dusit thani, so/ and several more of equal or above level of luxury, above what im willing to pay for what ill get. pong2, vinapu, FunFifties and 1 other 2 2 Quote
TMax Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago After staying at Ibis Styles I find it quite reasonable, the plus side is the food which is good, location, pool and gym however I think next trip (late next year ish hopefully) I think I will return to the Tarntawan or Raya (most likely Tarntawan) I hope to be fixed up and better prepared too. I have enjoyed the Ibis but I suppose the only downside would be room size and lack of cupboard or wardrobe but I didn't mind too much and worked my way around that. vinapu 1 Quote
Foolish Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Managed to secured a good rate at De Arni and Raya for my upcoming trip. Hopefully, they will be as good as the Quarter Silom 😬 vinapu 1 Quote

Yes its modern and well appointed but room and desk are postcard size and I find it overpriced big time . But as floridarob says I'm room size queen. Quote

I guess I will be enjoying the size of the grand deluxe room at the Raya. It's almost twice the size of my usual room at the Quarter 🤭 Quote
Members Lucky Posted 12 minutes ago Members Posted 12 minutes ago I pay for comfort, good food, and convenience. I've stayed at the cheaper hotels, including the Raya, and gladly leave them to those who like their prices. Quote
