Guest shockdevil Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Boys Boys Boys - Pattaya At the recommendation of a friend, I visited Boyz Boyz Boyz in Pattaya last night (March 14, 2011) and quite disappointed in the 22:00 performance. We arrived around 21:35 and the place was deserted except a few boys on stage and some staff scattered about the venue. I was told that there was a very hot guy that would be headlining the show that evening and figured I Quote
Guest shockdevil Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 No secret agenda...the show just sucked. Furthermore, I mentioned the date and time I went in my original post. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I last visited Boyz Boyz Boyz around 2 years ago. The show sucked then, as did the whole operation. The rotation of boys was dreadfully slow - around 5 minutes - and almost all seemed bored. I vowed never to return - and haven't! Quote

My friends and I have gone to other bars in BKK and Pattaya and have enjoyed the experience. I thought that maybe BBB was having a bad night when I visited, however, from my conversations with others during my stay in Pattaya, it seems like it was just the norm. Quote
Guest wellinever Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I have been away for a while (not in jail!) but i see that nothing has changed! the usual suspects doing the usual things, can't these people ever say anything nice about people/places, sad bastards, get a life, or hopefully, end yours in a dignified manner, because judging by their posts, particularly on SGF, they are clearly all clinically depressed! Bash Boyz Town, bash Sunee, bash Jomtien. I do wonder about all of these expert opinions, if they are such astute businessmen, why not open their own business's, i am sure that for the right price, nearly every business in Pattaya is for sale, so why not put your money(if you have any)where your mouth is, and invest? There are lots of positive things going on in Thailand, and particularly Pattaya, so if you don't like living here, F**k Off to where you came from, and be even more miserable! Quote

I started not to dignify your comments with a response but what the heck... I gave my honest opinion about a visit that I made personally to a venue in Thailand. Why have a forum if you're going to criticize a members comments on the good and the bad? I do not live in Thailand but visit it quite often for business and pleasure. There are many things that I really love about Thailand and they are what keeps me coming back. Actually, YOU have criticized a venue or two on this board yet you criticize me for giving my honest opinion, which quite frankly, others share my same feelings on BzBzBz. As the the old saying goes, "He who lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones". Judging from your rather crass remarks to a legitimate post, it seems you may be the one lacking a life and a bit bitter for some reason. By the way, I was not miserable in Thailand and I'm certainly not miserable in my neck of the woods. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 the usual suspects doing the usual things, can't these people ever say anything nice about people/places . . . because judging by their posts, particularly on SGF, they are clearly all clinically depressed! Let's just put things in perspective here. This thread is about one bar. It contains criticisms of its show from just two members - shockdevil and myself (and I admitted my experience was not recent). It contains one opposite opinion, plus shockdevil's comment that he found the offerings of other bars much more enjoyable. On other threads I have also posted positive reviews of other bars in Pattaya and Bangkok I have had great times in. So there are different opinions which provide a balance on both this and other discussions. As such, there is absolutely no reason for your post to start attacking other people. Besides, as shockdevil points out, you have been perfectly happy to voice your own criticism of venues/shows you did not enjoy, as in this from the thread Venue Christmas Show Posted 20 December 2010 - 06:29 AMWell my dears, i went to the Venue to see the spectacular Xmas show, what a dissapointment! why call something an Xmas show when all they have done is add some more feathers (if there's any left in LOS) and some very cheesy naff songs, why bother? best just to carry on as normal, and not publicise something you cannot achieve? or this more recent one - Oh, how original! an underwear show & the break dancers who can be seen every night in Boyz Town outside Panoroama Pub, and also every night in X Boys, and an underwear show that every bar does on a weekly basis, nothing like originality ah? Well, now, "I do wonder about all of these expert opinions." Oh dear! And, oh no! These are not my words. They are yours! Phrases like "sad bastards" and "F**k off" may accord with the exact regulations of this Board, but not their spirit, in my view. If you wish to use such language, there are other Boards where it seems positively welcome. Please also remember, this Board is not SDF. Nor is it any other Board. So it is quite wrong to compare. Besides, I for one can not get SDF here in Bangkok (and I know there is at least one other regular poster in the same situation). I therefore haven't a clue what you are talking about. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 this Board is not SDF . . . I for one can not get SDF here in Bangkok Typo - should have read SGF. Quote
Guest Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Four years ago, I walked into Boys Boys Boys, turned around walked straight back out & haven't been back since. It didn't appeal. Quote
Guest HeyGay Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Typo - should have read SGF. Google sawatdee Use the address to put into this Box "www turbohide com" Your have no more problems. Chinese use it to see any web site. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Your have no more problems. Indeed, I don't. Thank you so much! Quote

I was trying to figure out how to incorporate his past comments on other threads into this thread but lost patients. Once I figure that one out I will be dangerous...LOL. Quote
Guest Martelly Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Was in BBB Saturday night. The place was two thirds empty. Staff looked bored. The show was awful and the drinks were still well over priced. Will not be back and let me tell you this is a true event of what the place is like. Quote
Guest solid_gold Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I have no intent to insult or critisise anyone for their opinions, I will be returning to Thailand for the 1st time in many years shortly. Reading some of the various Thai forums helps me with knowing approximately what to expect when I arrive. Usually a balanced opinion can be formed by reading posts here and elsewhere. It seems to me that most posts are by expats and frequent visitors, who see and experience more than the average short term visitor . A lot of posts seem to mention how tired the shows (and the boys )are. I was impressed to wonder how many of these "tired/jaded"looking boys are that way because they see the same faces night after night, knowing that they are being critised and that their chances of making a few Baht are slim because the expats and frequent faces have already used up their enthusiasm for them. Sure I drink up the good comments about various venues and will probably be more inclined to patronise a venue about which I have seen numerous good reports, however I will explore different bars (even the ones with less than glowing recommendations)purely because as an infrequent visitor it will probably all be fun to me. I am guilty of describing the "scene" in my own Australian hometown as tired and boring, yet I know visitors quite enjoy it. Keep the opinions coming guys, I find most of it useful and may agree with you all following my visit cheers men Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I found the BBB show a complete and utter bore. It was once fabulous but now it is dry and dull and the dancers are not the highest quality. I liked the Wild West Boys show and enjoy it from time to time. Other than it, most of the other bars need a refreshing new number or two. Quote

You might have a point in some cases. This was the first time I had been there in about 3 years. The guys on stage were mostly new faces except for a couple of real hard looking guys. I stayed in Thailand for only a month this time and had a great time in other bars that I frequent, like Wild West Boys and the NAB. I always enjoy going to WWB and even though sometimes the shows get a bit redundant, the guys there seem to always put an extra effort into their performance. Even the guys that are on stage dancing about and waiting for someone to off them seem to interact with the patrons pretty decently. I have had a few of them come over and have drinks with us because of their friendly interactions. I will be returning to Thailand shortly for another monthly visit (hopefully longer) and I plan to return to some of my favorite bars while avoiding the ones that I found quite boring. I also check this board and others to see what people are saying is hot and what's not so that I can maximize my time during my stay. Quote

That's a valid point – even though I may not entirely agree with it. I can remember my many visits to Bangkok over more than a couple of decades before I started living here. Even on a short business trip, I’d pop over to the bars in the Soi Twilight area, usually just to Apollo, then Twilight and Dream Boys. The dancers themselves almost always seemed to be enjoying themselves and the shows were more often exciting than they were routine. Nowadays, routine really is the norm (you’ll have to trust me!), and when you have seen the same rather tired show several times, inevitably it becomes boring. (On another thread - Original Twilight Bar in Bangkok - there are a lot of posts about the 'old days' and how the Bangkok bars were more interesting and innovative, and how the attitudes of many of the boys and most of the mamasans have changed over the years.) But we are all different, and I accept that when you factor in the cost and effort of getting to Thailand and the expectation that precedes it, your anticipation is greater and you inevitably enjoy a slightly different experience. A ‘routine’ show becomes more interesting because of its relative novelty. And equally inevitably, there will be a degree of frustration at the ‘locals’ who have it all on their doorsteps 24/7, yet who frequently seem to be carping about this or about that. I think you have absolutely the right attitude to the posts you read. Like swimming and gymnastics competitions, it’s probably best to discount the best and the worst scores, then take an average sampling to give you a pretty good idea of which bars' offerings are good and which less so. Where I don’t agree with you, certainly as far as Bangkok is concerned, is your suggestion that one reason the boys are jaded is because they see the same faces night after night. And even if this may be more true in the more concentrated gay areas of Pattaya, with the exception of the recent recession I suspect most times there are plenty of tourists mixed in to justify livening things up. For whatever reason, I do think that quite a number of the boys are just plain bored with what they do. Until relatively recently, they always seemed to give the impression they were having fun, or were there to see that the customer had a good time. Nowadays more seem to look on it as just a job whilst hanging around in the hope of an off – but in the realisation that it may be yet another lean night. Quote
