If it is permissible to ask, have you always been around this place or are you relatively new?

I think you may not have been reading the Board in August when it was announced that gaythailand had sold the Board. You can find the detail in the thread "GayThailand.com is HERE to STAY ! !" Scooby is the administrator and the new owner.

Scooby may be relatively new, but as far as I know:

1 Posting has ALWAYS been a privilege here. The board has always had rules. People who break them may be moderated.

2 When enjoying the hospitality & freedom to post on a forum, it is always more civilised to view it as a privilege & behave with courtesy to other members & the ownership.

Are you, z909, also an administrator or moderator?

Yes, he is. He is great at it as well. Admins and Mods don't often get the credit they deserve. It is a hard job at times and trying to maintain a fun atmosphere to post is not easy.

Perhaps Scooby could have been more explicit about why he made this post. There was some idiot/troll who posted a piece of trash which was rightly deleted. I am assuming that triggered Scooby's post. Shades of badboybilly.

I do not know who was behind that series of pathetic posts but am grateful to Scooby and the mods for their speedy action. For those who read them, it was quite obvious why they were deleted and the poster banned. I think voldemar summed up the feelings of most of us in this quite recent post -

This message board is gaining momentum and this is precisely the time where various doubious characters will try to join in and destroy the board. I remember that Rich LB at one point raised an issue about a possible niche for this one. It is shaping up . . . as a place where people with different views can discuss important and frequently difficult issues in intelligent manner. Let us keep it this way.

Quite. If Scooby, Gaybutton or any of the other forum owners take the trouble to run a forum for people to engage in civilised debate, it seems only appropriate that the members should accept the rules & behave appropriately.

Unfortunately, some people still don't get it.

I will add my gratitude for the work of the admin / moderator(s) on this site. I am sure it is a lot of effort to keep on top of things. Having browsed through other gay forums, I appreciate the tone and variety here very much.

So Thanks!
