November festivals and events

Coincidentally, I was just reading about Loy Krathong festival. I will be in Bangkok that weekend. Will there be much to see in Bangkok and where? - I know it coincides with the Awakening Festival which seems to be buildings lit up in the palace/temple area.

More importantly, is there any positive or negative impact on bars, shows, saunas or other services?

You can take a stroll in Lumphini Park after sunset. If you want it a bit romantic, organize a boy to come with you, buy Krathongs=boats and let them float in the lake. Many people there, nice atmosphere!

I was once in Bangkok during Krathong holiday and city, bars , shows etc.  seemed normal but  I was stupid enough to take BTS wanting to see how it will be on river bank. Crowds on Saphan Taksin station were well past insane, it was outright dangerous. I did my exit as fast as I could which is not saying much as it was hard to move and swore never be near river on Loy Krathong eveninh and night   by any mood of transportation other than my own legs .

I second 10tazione's proposal to taste holiday in Lumpini park with boy (s) if desired)

oopsy - the the above Pattaya Mail bulletin forgot to include one of the MOST important Thai holidays that occurs in November (Loy Krathong)

More embarrassing is that the illustration was prepared by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). 🤗
