Travelingguy Posted October 27 Posted October 27 United flies direct to Beijing and Shanghai from West Coast of USA. United also flies direct Newark to Delhi. Air India is the only direct flight from San Francisco to Delhi, but honestly, I would take any other airline to make that trip. Perhaps the Tata Group will be able to fix the problems at Air India, but that is going to take a long time. Also, there is another concern to toss into the mix. An Air India flight from India to San Francisco had to divert to Russia. Luckily nothing happened to the passengers who had an unplanned stop in Russia. But there is a good reason that Western governments urge their citizens not to go to Russia. I would not want to become a hostage in Russia, waiting for some Western country to release a Russia agent who shoots someone to death in front of mothers with kids in the middle of a park in Berlin. Strong pass. reader and vinapu 2 Quote

Inbound tourism in Russia at past year was 4 mln, at this year it expected to be 5 mln. So, to the end of 2024 Russia expects to have 9 mln hostages in total. But the topic is that Western airlines have lost the competition to Chinese companies and are fleeing routes with destinations to China Quote
