12is12 Posted October 22 Share Posted October 22 While looking 4 flights on avianca, from SP 2 bogota, this note popped up: "For trips from brazil to colombia, you must carry the Yellow Fever certificate, which must be issued at least 10 days prior to travel." SDBrazil Posted October 25 Share Posted October 25 Trust me (unfortunately speaking from experience, not with Avianca, but with another airline), you do not want to take your chances that the airline will not check/allow you to board without the Yellow Fever certificate. As mentioned, there is a 10+ day waiting period for the vaccine to be effective and be able to travel; so it is not a situation that can easily be fixed if you do not have the necessary documentation at check-in. (In my case, I had the certificate, just not on me, and I was able to travel the next day, but it was still a costly screw-up.)
