Popular Post reader Posted October 22 Popular Post Posted October 22 While making the circuit of Lumpinee Park the other evening, the new Dusit Thani caught my eye. It’s indeed a great addition to skyline of Silom. Authorities are also improving all paved roads and walkways in the park. The resurfacing should be completed in time for high season. tm_nyc, TMax, khaolakguy and 3 others 6 Quote
vinapu Posted October 22 Posted October 22 welcome addition of another budget hotel in the area. Very high budget though as I see rooms advertising for 13000 baht or so. TMax and fedssocr 2 Quote

reader Posted October 23 Author Posted October 23 I’m content with my memories of old Dusit where I could occasionally find $144 rate on Agoda in their huge Dusit rooms with lounge privileges. Quote

They were great rooms, and the staff in the lounge knew that I didn't like much ice in my gin & tonic! No lounge privileges this time, dont think lounge is open yet, but have booked double aspect room. I hope the pool, which appears to be on the 5th floor, is bigger than the old one! Quote
Ruthrieston Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I used to really like the cocktail bar on the top floor, enjoying my dry martinis with the lovely views over the park. Is there any sign of a bar on the top floor of the new building? Quote
