Guest dekdek Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Today I was at the road traffic department office by the Regent's school, and after doing my tax extension, I asked about renewing my driving licence for a motorcycle. Apart from usual copies of passport, old Thai driving licence and 2 photos from a POLOROID camera (which can be done across the road from the entrance), you need a letter from immigration about your address, but now no doctor's certificate. Also to get the 5 year renewal it must be done on the date of expiry or after. Not before or else you will only get the 1 year Note they said photo's printed from a computer on photo paper is not accepted because the ink will run.!! I assume everyone immediately gets their licence laminated anyway. Quote
Guest Boxer Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I did my Car tax 1643 baht and Government Insurance 743 baht today also. Just needed the Blue Book of ownership and the receipt for the Govt Insurance, hand them over counter on ground floor and it was done in minutes fastest yet. You dont need the Personal Car Insurance, that is up to you as they say! If you have that anyone can drive the car as long as they have a Thai Licence but you all knew that already. Quote
