Guest voldemar Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 When I approached economy counter in HK to check in, I was surprised to learn that my ticket is first class. For short flights like HK BKK I do not see much sense in fancy tickets and I clearly bought the cheapest ticket available. Since it was Christmas eve, it happened to be first class. The flight was O'K with roomy seats and reasonable food. What was surprising is that on arrival I was met by local staff, taken by electric car to immigration, where I was whisked through Diplomatic lane in no time. Another person accompanied me to limousine count (passed customs which now has X-ray checks of luggage) and I was on my way to Pattaya. I forgot to mention that the flight was with Thai Airways. I am sure that there is nothing new for wealthy patrons of this website but it definitely was news for me. The moral of this story is quite simple:enjoy little perks the life has to offer while you can. Remember that in no time commies in Washington DC will destroy the dollar and your ability to travel along the way. Quote
atri1666 Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Normally you get also electric car in Hongkong? You not used the first class lounge in HKG with a view at your plane before boarding? They have very fine meals and drinks. You had the same seats like in my picture? Quote

Yes, I used their lounge in HK and they actually served free breakfast with several different choices, free liquors etc. The seats were fine and took almost perfect horizontal position. I flew by business (shitty) class with American Airlines from Chicago to HK and there was no perks upon arrival. Quote
kokopelli Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 First time I flew Thai Air they upgraded me to Business Class on my return trip from BKK to New York City, a non stop flight. Very nice. Quote
