Gaybutton Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Does any one know what thai banks charge to cash travellers checks, and does it change if the check is of a higher amount It's been so long since I cashed travel checks that I don't recall the exact figure, but it is very nominal. It is a per-check fee, depending on the demonination. Perhaps someone else knows the fees. If you are going to use travel checks you will probably get a better rate by doing a bit of shopping around and checking the private exchange houses. They usually give a better rate than most banks. TeePee, if you happen to read this thread I think I recall that you have an exchange house that you recommend. Is that right? Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 If my memory serves me right it is a nominal fee, a little over 30 baht but not as much as 40 baht. I believe the charge is a per check fee and so the charge is the same for a $20 or $500 check. Hope this helps. Quote
