TotallyOz Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 They are already selling them online and the good seats are filling up. If you want to see it opening weekend, you might want to book in advance as if history tells anything, this will be just as hot an item as before. I went to see the last on in Bangkok and we got there 3 hours early and had to sit in the front row. So, this time I booked early and in advance so I'll be able to enjoy the next to last movie in this fantastic series! Quote
Bob Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 It's been 2 days or so since the world premiere of this movie in London and I'm only wondering when I'll be able to buy the 100 baht dvd here in Chiangmai. I'm betting it'll be available and openly sold within the next 7 days or so. Quote

I can't wait to see how they make it look on the big screen. This has been an absolutely wonderful series of movies. The books were better. But, I have really enjoyed all the movies. Quote

Maybe things are still good in Chiang Mai but in Bangkok getting high quality and I stress High Quality is not easy anymore. I used to be amazed at being able to get a Master Copy a few days after the movie was out. I have yet to find a excellent copy of Tom Cruises latest movie or the Karate Kid , Red etc etc etc . From the same dealers I always bought from and new ones all I get is CRAP. I am lucky if it will even play in the USA when I return and the quality of the picture is 1/2 of what it used to be. From my perspective the Crackdown is working!!! Quote

I typically buy them at the local mall (Kad Suan Kaew) and have had no problem getting the ones you mention above or any of the latest. Quality's been no problem here. I've been to the various night market places where they "quietly" go out to a car or somewhere to get a copy of whatever but, since they sell the same ones for the same price in the mall, that's where I buy them. Always 100 baht each or 6 for 500 baht although rarely you can bargain them down a little. Quote

I used to get at least 9 out every 10 excellent quality and worked fine in the USA also. Now I get about 4 out of 10 and 2 of those won't even play in the USA. Also it was 3 months before Karate Kid and the latest Tom Cruise movie were available. It used to be 3 days. Red has been out over a month and no sign of a decent copy here!!! Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Red has been out over a month and no sign of a decent copy here!!! Both the tilac and I enjoyed Red. Two thumbs up! Plot is weak but an allstar cast makes it work. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 cntd. Not much demand for Red as the 8:00 show was cancelled as they had zero customers by 7:50. The ticket seller, a cute brown skined boy with a nice smile and eager to please told us since two tickets had already been sold for 11:00, the show must go on and if we come back later we would be able to see it. Guest Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I with with a few cute boys. I loved the show but I have read the book and can't wait to see both of these episodes. I can't say the Thais actually loved it. They tolerated it. It was pretty boring to most of them. The movie has a great deal of dialogue and little action. The next one should have more action and it does end the series very well. As for the tickets, the theaters here keep adding more and more showings and there were enough of them to see and no need to book early. Quote
Guest beachlover Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I took a Thai BF in Sydney to see one of the Angels and Demons movie (Dan Brown novel) once. Being in Sydney, there were no Thai subtitles. After the movie, even though he had previously read the Dan Brown book (published in Thai), he said, "don't ask me if I understood that" LOL. He was completely lost with all the English dialogue. Quote
