Marc308 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 After renting the same place in Dongtan each year for many years, I am ready to move on. There seem to be great places to rent as short stay condos, and yearly condos, and maybe even a condo for 1 month, but there seem to be a dearth of ways to rent a multi-month, fully furnished serviced apartment in Jomtien/Dongtan. There seems to be no organized marketplace, and you are at the mercy of finding a single owner with whom you can negotiate a deal. Case in point, a few days ago, I went to the main desk at Jomtien Complex Condotel and asked what rentals are available. The desk person rummaged through his notes and phoned a Chinese lady (who could barely speak English) as his answer. FYI I am looking at some place near Dongtan and JC, for 3 months next year, a well-equipped two-bedroom, two-bath condo. I am considering VT8, Jomtien Plaza Condotel, JCC, Grand Condotel... but have no idea how I can access this market. I'd appreciate it if anybody has any suggestions how go about it? khaolakguy 1 Quote
gerefan Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I rent a condo in VT 2 opposite Jomtien Complex. Inside the condo there are three agencies which rent out rooms. I use one of them which was recommended to me I assume other condos have similar arrangements. Problem would be finding out their contact details….maybe a lot of googling will do it. vinapu 1 Quote

Well as for the VTs, there seems to be an agency on Thappraya Road, which does do listings for all the VTs it appears. And yes there are agencies near most/all of the large condo complexes (there are two very near Jomtien Complex Condotel) but neither appeared to be interested in multi-month rentals. It's either short stay (read, by the day) or long-term (usually 6 months minimum). Using short-stay rates, a multi-month rental would cost about 2x or 3x more than monthly market rates. VT1 and VT2 may be an exception? Quote

bkkmfj2648 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 @Marc308 When I moved to Thailand back in September 2022, I booked a 1 month studio condo in the VT5 via AirBnB. I got to know the owner of the said condo outside of the AirBnB system, and I can share with you his details as he is a wealth of information about rentals in the area. Anthony (Tony) WhatsApp: +66896079896 Tony can speak French, Italian, and English I would suggest that you send your query to him via a WhatsApp text message vinapu 1 Quote
BjornAgain Posted September 8 Posted September 8 As @bkkmfj2648 says, have a rummage on AirBnB, having said that put 3 months in from 1st November, and the prices are well out of order. Might be best to look for 2 different Condos or even 3 once you know your dates. Had some work couple of years ago in Johor Bahru and Singapore, stayed in JB for 3 months. Got a cracking AirBnB deal for a 1 bed, gym, pools, WiFi, and being AirBnB type rental Elec & Water part of the rent. £350 pcm. I've found most AirBnB hosts don't register you with immigration, so you might have fun & games with the local immigration when extending your Visa after 60 days. (Assuming you're 60 day Visa Exemption on arrival). Either that do a border bounce or use an Agent. Anyway, best of luck. vinapu 1 Quote
Shonen Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Don’t stay at vt8, it’s rather far from jomtien complex. Quote

Almost everyday, I walk by this Viewtalay Sales Office that is on Thappraya road that is directly in front of the View Talay 2 condos. Perhaps for buying them they can share with you which ones are for sale ? But, I do know that within each VT complex there are independent real estate offices on the ground floor - and they deal with VT rentals and sales and purchases. I see that there is a phone number in the above Google street image - 038-252103 - perhaps you could contact them ? siriusBE 1 Quote
AndyUK Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Check out Jomtien Beach Penthouses that have short to long term rents. Quote

Instead the staff were intent on selling me a new unit. Perhaps I should have prevailed longer in asking for medium-term rentals, but it was obvious their bread and butter was from commissions selling new units in whatever VT#n was on the market at the time. The frailty and disorganization of the real estate market in Pattaya never ceases to amaze me. There must be a better way... Some entrepreneur out there should try to make a consolidated listing website. Just a pipe dream I guess. Quote
