TotallyOz Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 The longest journey by a Tuk Tuk was 37,410 km (23,245 miles) and was completed by Susi Bemsel and Daniel Snaider (both Germany) from Bangkok, Thailand to Eichstätt, Germany, between 8 February and 17 December 2005. What an amazing accomplishment! They even made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for this. I doubt that anyone in their right mind would ever attempt to break such a record. I am sure some nut will attempt it to break it one day and I wish them great luck! Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Getting all the visas must have been a challenge. Quote
Guest jomtien Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Getting all the visas must have been a challenge. Not as much of a challenge as finding a Tuk Tuk with a heavy-duty, reinforced, titanium suspension system. Quote
Bob Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Getting all the visas must have been a challenge. More surprising to me is all those countries that even allowed the vehicle (the tuktuk) on their roads (not only because of how it's built but the insurance requirements). Strange. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 An alternative trip is Thailand to the United States. Thailand to Laos to China to Russia then a boat to the good ole USA. Maybe Sarah Palin would greet the tuk tuk if no gay people were in it. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 If you get to the eastern end of Russia in the dead of winter you can drive across the Bering Straits to Alaska, visit Sarah, the down the Al-Can Highway to USA. You probably would freeze your jewels off in a tuk tuk. Quote
Guest Yaya Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 So, GT, did you buy that Tuk Tuk and when you do you start your odyssey? Quote

You probably would freeze your jewels off in a tuk tuk. For past 10 years professional russian traveler Fiodor Konukhov had 3 tries to cross Bering Straits on ski... All 3 were unsuccessful: too warm weather - no ice in center of straits Quote

Sarah's daughter is on dancing with the stars this season and I thought she did an OK job on her first performance in the competition. So, GT, did you buy that Tuk Tuk and when you do you start your odyssey? I do not own a Tuk Tuk. Although the odyssey sounds like fun. It may be something I have to consider in my old age. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 You'd better hurry; it's fast approaching. Quote
