Popular Post vinapu Posted August 25 Popular Post Posted August 25 High rise in place of our beloved and sadly demise soi Twilight is growing very fast and onlt trace soi was there is our memories. As expected bar recently opened across form world famous Foodland Patpong, well known for never having any customers closed and unit sits in darkness again. Yesterday was Saturday, usually busiest day in bars but at 10 pm Hot Male gogo had no customers. Few come later but we are talking few. What is surprising dozen or so boys there were very decent looking, attractively dressed in uniform red track pants and equally uniform shirts removed. At first glance I could off any one of them so bars and boys must have it hard. I did not stay for the show so no idea if they had any. Drink and off fee 500, boys drink 400. From tips dispensed yesterday and today it looks that boy's expectancies are accordingly lowered, it was, long since I got a kiss planted on me just for tipping nothing outlandish. Rooms look nice, I looked up prices for the standard room in November at $208 Australian per night with breakfast, think I will pass on that even though it does look nice and is in a good location. 10tazione Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Over 100 $ for a room without window and no swimming pool? No thanks! Interestingly, most room types are advertised as "no windows view", is this a japanese trend? reader 1 Quote

If the stock market behaves like that, it's usually a bad sign. I reckon it's not a good omen for the bars too. Would be great if you also peeped into Fresh Boy, Hotmail's neighbour. I won't be surprised if one is busy and the other empty. jamiebee 1 Quote

Popular Post vinapu Posted August 26 Author Popular Post Posted August 26 It doesn't belong here but I post it anyways. Today I walked all the way from Grand Palace to National Stadium BTS and was, surprised to find very long stretch of street without any 7/11. As compensation when finally one showed up I was, able to see another two standing at front of it. Good news about bus stops, I noticed plenty of them have direction of busses in English, even with intermediate stops listed. Great help for travellers not reading Thai. Why Hot Male was almost empty the other night is one of scene great mysteries as I cant find anything wrong with boys, staff, pricing, sound, AC and generally of how bar is run. Quote

a-447 Posted August 26 Posted August 26 On my recent trip to Bangkok I only went to Hotmale once. I refuse to support bars in which the guys wear normal clothes on stage. I can see such guys out on the street for free. Patanawet 1 Quote

I agree. On my last trip, the quality of the boys were better than some of the other bars. The mamasan was helpful and not pushy. The off fee and tips were lower than the other bars. My only complaint is those long pants and the ridiculous outfits they wore during the big cock show which were very distracting...I like an unobstructed view 🤭 jamiebee 1 Quote
Verchiele Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Just quick question to veterans here - I booked a hotel near IconSiam (Hilton Garden Inn Riverside), being a new hotel and reasonably priced. How problematic is this area to frequent the centre of the action? Looks like there is a gold line now... Quote

Should be easy, Gold line to regular BTS or take shuttle boat from Icon Siam across the river to Saphan Taksin BTS. Taxi won't ruin your budget either and may be necessary at night. Don't take taxi in rush hours as you may get stuck in traffic on the bridge TMax, FunFifties, Verchiele and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post vinapu Posted August 27 Author Popular Post Posted August 27 Last night visit in Dreamboys and Moonlight. Two rotations of boys, total probably around 40 of them. Quality much improved from last visit of mine. Music way too loud. I spotted 4 who made my heart rate speed up a bit, numbers 5, 27, 77 and 109 and could do with another fifteen - twenty if in need. In 1 hour we were there 5 and 27 were sitting with customers, 109 gone and only 77 still on the stage. Audience about half full which considering bar size is quite OK for Monday. Dreamboys, rose in my eyes after last night visit as it was never really my favotite. Drink 500 Then in the drizzle ( at this time of year never leave your room without umbrella even if sky is blue at the moment) we went to Moonlight. Model show in progress, Mark, Peach, Babe, Nut, York, Tum and Nest present. It was late so after show singing started with remaining floor boys, in the background. My heart pumed at the sight of 9, 10, 19, and a 30. I know member who offed 10 and was, very happy and another who offed 30 two times and was even happier. Mamasan who must know what I like from gossip from boys underscored 30 is fine with LT. Despite of being after midnight bar half full with few bottles opened and few lavish spenders. Each floor boy got 100 baht each and all models, between 1 and 7, yes, seven in Nest case those 1000 baht garlands. So you don't need many people to do good business it seems. So Moonlight continues to be my favorite bar in the area. By quite a distance. Boys in long pants and wife eaters, models the same but their shirt has their name. Drink 500, boys drink 450, off fee 500. Models off fee I assume still 1000. stijntje, reader, JackR and 5 others 8 Quote

You may have to wait 10 -12 minutes for a train. (Same with ferry, maybe 15 minutes.) Elsewhere, the BTS runs every 4 or 5 minutes. Quote

For the adventurous, motorsai is cheap and can definitely beat the traffic, at least towards nearest bts. Both grab and bolt have bike option too, thus eliminating the need to giving direction to the driver. vinapu 1 Quote
