firecat69 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Arrived from America on Thursday and went to Soi Twilight Friday night. Arrived for Show with a friend at 945pm at Boys. Only because my friend is well known did we get a good seat. BY 10.15 at the start of the show the door was closed and no one else allowed in. They later told my friend on a smoking break that they had turned away over 100 people. Before the Show about 50 boys maybe more rotated around the stage. There was something for everyone including Slim boyish types which has been missing at other visits. Official capacity is 240 people. Drinks are 300 for first drink and 260 after. Boy drinks are 260. I know ridiculous but you can't argue with success and at least this night he was making a fortune. The crowd was 95% Asian and they love the Show. It was ok for me but I don't like shows period so to be fair there are great costumes and thought in the routines. There was a Fuck show with 6 boys. There were a lot of offs during the show. When the show ends they have a dancing show starting downstairs and within 10 minutes that was standing room only. This is the best part IMHO. 16 Coyote Dancers sweating like crazy doing their routines. When they finish the rotation starts again. Many offs also during this period. So it would appear business is coming back in full force to Bangkok.<br> Quote
Guest Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Nice. It would be good to see Bangkok return to the old days. Also would be nice to see them return to the old prices. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 That's never going to happen. Quote
Guest beachlover Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I remember a lot of people saying Boys Bangkok/Dreamboys' business would die because they're overcharging for drinks and turning off locals/expats... It seems this is far from happening. 300 baht is a lot to locals/expats but it's nothing to tourists or irregular visitors in town for a few days who want to check out the show. If they had 240 people paying at least 300 for drink that's a minimum of 72,000 baht from that show alone. Add on secondary drinks and offs and they made a mint... maybe 150,000-200,000 baht that night (two shows). I guess the approach of turning off local expats (with high priced drinks) but attracting the tourist/visitor segment with a big show and large venue is paying off. Hell, when I visit, even I sometimes wonder over to have a geez at the show if I'm bored before the discos open. But the last time I went I was a bit disappointed, nothing much has changed and some parts of the show are a little embarrassing to watch. Quote
