Guest Astrrro Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Kuan Meun Ho (Hello Stranger) is playing in Thai cinemas now. 4 thumbs up from 2 falang and 2 ladyboys. If u read the movie description, it may sound lame. But trust me on this one, it is a great date movie. Even if romantic comedies are not your thing, this may be the exception. Quote
Guest beachlover Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 When you watch this movie in a Thai cinema, does it have English subtitles? For all screenings or certain marked screenings? Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Most, not all, Thai movies shown here have English subtitles. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I hate dubbing and much prefer subtitles. In Pattaya most English novies have Thai subtitles and most Thai movies have English subtitles. My guess is upcountry it is harder to find subtitles. Somehow subtitles convey an arty foreign film but so many Thai movies involve ghosts and horror themes. This particular movie will probably make it to Western theatres. It is very skillfully done. Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 We saw this today. It did not have blood and guts or screaming ugly lady boys. It was a very good romantic comedy with subtitles. You do have to read fast in some parts, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. Quote
