Guest Astrrro Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 if memory serves me correctly Avenue and maybe Central have discounted Wednesday"s at 60 baht. I also seem to recall that there are somrtimes special promotions if u pay witha certain card. Anyone know if using either kasikorn, Bangkok Bank, or Ayudthya gets any discounts? Quote
Guest travelerjim Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Yes, Wednesday is the day for the 60 baht movies! My bf and I often go and enjoy - on Wednesdays. Promotion is in Pattaya and Chonburi. Is it also available in other areas? tj Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Thanks for the information. I was not aware of the Wednesday promotion. I will check it out. Is the promotion good at Central and Big C? Is it in the afternoon or all day? Quote
Guest BeginnersMind Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Thanks for the information. I was not aware of the Wednesday promotion. I will check it out. Is the promotion good at Central and Big C? Is it in the afternoon or all day? I think it is all day at Central at least. I find the seats there a little uncomfortable though. Anyone know if there are better seats elsewhere? I know they have premium loveseats, and first class cinema etc, but for the basic ticket price. . . anywhere with comfy seats? Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I generally go to Avenue and the seats are comfy and the theatre empty. I think except for a few love seats the seats are the same, it just costs more to sit near the back. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 A bit off the topic, but still related to cinemas. Today we went to Central Cinema. I bought popcorn and asked for some salt. The answer I got was, "No have." I explained that many times previously they gave me some salt that they use when they pop the corn. The answer was, "Cannot." Again I said I had gotten it many times before. A woman who appeared to be the concession manger was there and the girl talked to her and she also said, "Cannot." Explain this, anyone, if you can. Guest beachlover Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 They might have run out and were not prepared to, or able to explain that this was the case. Sometimes in Asian culture it it is difficult to tell someone you cannot action their request. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 They never have salt available on the counter. They did not run out of the salt they use to make the popcorn; they were still making popcorn and using it. The girl was just being obstinate. Both she and the manager understood exactly what I wanted. As I said, they had given me some of that salt many times in the past. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 You weren\t seeing the new Anjelina Jolie movie, Salt perchance? If i was more creative I'd try writing an Abbot and Costello skit around this theme. But sounds like u were as frustrated as Costello in Who's On First. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I ended up telling her to keep the popcorn. Quote
