Guest fountainhall Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Being partial to bananas . . . I am going to open a new thread! I usually buy bananas at Tops supermarket. Almost always, the skins have some dark patches, or they are distinctly greenish and clearly nor ready to be eaten. Recently, the quality of the fruit has been dreadful. The worst was last week when I purchased some seemingly perfectly long yellow ones from TOPS supermarket, only to find that they were rotting from the inside out. They all went in to the trash. I discovered ages ago that bananas keep best in a wine cooler. But where can one find decent bananas that that are ready to eat and not half rotten? I really do not mind so much about the price. I just want my bananas Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I like the big long bananas too, although the small miniature ones you see in Wat Chai market are okay every once in a while. I usually buy bananas in small quantities and in the market rather than at Tops or Friendship. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 FH I think you might be running into problems with bananas right now because of the weather. Not only is it really wet and subjects the fruit to rotting, but it is probably very difficult to get into some of the plantations because of the flooding. Just a guess on my part!! Quote
