Guest fountainhall Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Yes, it's what you've all been waiting for! How to ensure you have a plethora of gorgeous young men around you whenever you step into a bar! Absolutely guaranteed! No tricks!!! As they say in the musical Gypsy, "You gotta have a gimmick If you wanna have a chance!" For some years, I have purchased the small, sample-like bottles of cologne that the discount stores have for sale in Hong Kong. They usually contain between 5 and 7 mls and cost around Bt. 100. Now, sure, the boys in the bars love their Bt. 100 tips. But will they remember those who gave the red note to them? Maybe once in a blue moon. But if you want them to remember you from DAY ONE, take from your bag one of these small bottles. I guarantee that your chosen young man will all but shriek with delight. He will sample it, beam and show it off to all the others. More will flock around and ask for one. Whether you give out more than one is immaterial. One does the trick. The next time you step into that bar, several boys will be waiting with bated breath to see if you have more samples to hand around. The only problem is that the mamasans want in on the act as well. Only they want the large sized bottles! Quote
Guest YardenUK Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Certainly a novel idea, with one proviso - I personally don't like men smelling of (synthetic) cologne or perfume in any shape or form. No, I rephrase that..... I loathe it! Now I know who to blame Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 If I wore fragrance my bf would not be happy at all. He is very sensitive to smells. Quote
MrBill Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 "You gotta have a gimmick If you wanna have a chance!" The only problem is that the mamasans want in on the act as well. Prior to my last trip to LOS I stopped at one of the local dollar stores near me and purchased a bunch of those glow-in-the-dark plastic bracelets and necklaces. A pack of 5 bracelets or 3 necklaces cost $1.00. On my first night in Pattaya, as I walked through Boyztown and Sunee I would break one open and give it to a doorman or a dancer standing outside on break. Everybody loved them, and yes, the mamasans wanted in also. I would also give one to a waiter when I went inside. Well, the next night, everybody seemed to want me to come in. I think I bought $20.00 worth those things and it was one of the best buys I could have made! Quote

I think I am correct in saying every Thai boy I have met in the last 7 or 8 years loves cologne - and not only in the bars. When birthday time comes around, it's always a big bottle of some cologne they want! The trouble is many seem to want the latest ones, and the discount stores in Hong Kong only carry those that have been out for 6 months or so. Prices there seem to be a good 40% cheaper than Bangkok. Guest MonkeySee Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 The boys may like it but I am not a fan of cologne. A trace of the fragrance is ok but some put it on so thick, they smell like something out of a French whorehouse. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 We usually have our doors open for ventilation. Often we can smell strong cologne inside out condo from passersby who have used too much. It can be nauseating. Quote
Guest Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I love the smell of good cologne. I think it is sexy. Many of the boys I like love to use mine before they head out for the night. I love the idea of giving these small gifts. Fabulous. Thanks! Quote
Guest beachlover Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I think a trace of cologne is nice. It adds to the smell of a boy. What I hate is the smell of deodorant. Christ it stinks. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I think a trace of cologne is nice. It adds to the smell of a boy. What I hate is the smell of deodorant. Christ it stinks. I am curious as to the difference. Most of the brand name colognes also have their own deodorants. Foe example, in the morning I like to wear a splash of Davidoff's Cool Water. If I use the deodorant, it generally smells as though I am wearing a little of the cologne. In Bangkok, with the constant heat and humidity, I sometimes use a little of both. Do you mean another type of deodorant? Quote
Guest beachlover Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Actually, yeah, I meant the shit that gets sprayed out of aerosol cans like Lynx. I like Cool Water too! Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Strong odors of almost any kind can be nauseating for me. I guess I am over sensitive because too much cologne, deodorant, etc. can give me a headache. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 My bf is the same as you MonkeySee. He finally found a deodorant that is really scent free. Quote
Guest Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I have said it on the forum before. I'll say it again. Secret. Strong enough for a man but made for a woman! The best deodorant on earth. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 DeodoMin Natural Deodorant is the one my bf uses; no scent, no taste. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 DeodoMin Natural Deodorant is the one my bf uses; no scent, no taste. I admit one of my turn-ons is the natural smell of many Asian guys. When I first arrived in Hong Kong, I remember being told that those with a generally rice-based diet seem to have a slightly sweet and pleasant odour, that is tinged with a touch of sourness if they have been working in the heat before they shower. Most farang, on the other hand, due to many years with a different diet, give off an odour that is generally not pleasant to Chinese sensibilities. As someone said, we smell whereof we eat. That is perhaps one reason why I started using cologne. Now I just enjoy wearing it and when I smell it on others - in moderation. I am not sure who Mark Bloom was, but I tend to agree with his comment - If it smells delicious, at some point you'll want to come in and have a taste Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Actually, yeah, I meant the shit that gets sprayed out of aerosol cans like Lynx. I remember years ago when I worked in an organisation where a fellow director was giving me a hard time, one of my colleagues returned from a trip to the USA and brought me a present. He said I could now solve my troubles with the problem director by just shaking the can and squirting the contents in his direction Intrigued, I opened the wrapping. The label read "Genuine Texas Bullshit Repellant". Now, if only I could find where they retail that in Asia . . . Quote
