Cynics have long claimed that justice in Thailand is a marketable commodity

like almost anything else. A current issue involving a wealthy elderly Swede,

accused of multiple cases of sexual abuse of children, financially manipulative

lawyers perverting the course of justice and a greedy adulterous judge, have

I know of farang who have been set up in order to extract money from them. It is fortunate that they could buy there way out of the situation since justice is not always blind here.

Here is some more:

Seeking representation, Mr. Solberg hired a lawyer from a firm located

in Soi R, Moo.10, South Pattaya. Miss Wanida [alias], who runs the legal

practitioners, had tried to bail her client out of remand more than 10 times,

but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Allegedly by chance, Miss Wanida was introduced to another woman Miss Linda

[alias] by an associate law firm. Miss Linda was supposed to be very powerful

The original link opened fine for me. One point I find strange. If, as the article states and most of us are aware, justice is generally for sale, especially when the accused is known to be wealthy, how come it took so long for this guy to get bail? According to the article, it took ten applications, during which time he was in custody.

Yet, we have the case of the 90-year old in Chiang Mai accused of raping three under age girls who was let out on bail within a few weeks. And I do not remember reading that he is particularly wealthy. There is also the case of the allegation about the Russian conductor, Mikhail Pletnev, molesting a 14-year old boy. He was given bail immediately.

I also get somewhat angry at the assertions always made in case like this where anyone, especially someone known to be wealthy, is freed on bail. As the editor states -

Mr. Solberg is now out on bail. Do you think he would come back to face court after the bribery revelations and already serious nature of his offences? I sincerely doubt it.

When the Russian conductor was also given leave to depart Thailand to fulfil engagements with his orchestra, the NGO involved and the media screamed in headlines that rang around the world: "I'll bet he'll never come back." Well, if I recall correctly, he has already returned to Thailand about 4 times for his bail renewal hearings. He has to be be pretty wealthy, and flying back every 12 days must be costing him a pretty penny.

So what one reads in the Thai media is not always true!!!

Oh, Pletnev is rich enough. Money have no sense for him, but time has...

Hahahahahahahahaha... Do you know even one media in World which is always true???
