TotallyOz Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Went to Nice Boys last night about 8PM an no one there. It was early and I was told to come back in 1 hour. I went back at 10PM with a friend to celebrate his birthday. OMG The stage was packed with sexy guys. Everyone looked over 18. They had tons of customers. The boys all seemed to be having a great time. It was business as usual in the Plaza last night. Welcome back Nice Boys! Keep up the good work! Quote
daddydawg Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Yes....GT....I agree. It is nice to have Nice Boys back in the saddle again. I, too, was at Nice Boys on your second visit last night. And speaking of being back in the saddle, I could not help but notice that you had lassoed a handsome calf. And a very handsome boy indeed complete with the most marvelous happy trail. Following the cowboy theme...we can break into a chorus of "Happy Trails To You." Great fun indeed. Happy for Nice Boys return. Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Welcome back Nice Boys! Keep up the good work! Yes, I am glad to see Nice Boys back again. I have found the bar and atmostphere most pleasant. Do they have the same mamasan? Quote

He would make someone a perfect BF IF he spoke better English. He is yummy though. I think I may just have him as my cocktail of the week. A few times this week. Yes, I am glad to see Nice Boys back again. I have found the bar and atmostphere most pleasant. Do they have the same mamasan? Same mamasan as before. Many of the same boys and some new ones as well. I did notice they have a large section of the place reserved now. Did the crowd from the Corner Bar reserved table move down to Nice Boys? Is so, how do I get an invitation for this special seat? Guest Hedda Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Welcome back Nice Boys! Keep up the good work! Same mamasan as before. Many of the same boys and some new ones as well. I seem to recall press reports that this bar was raided just last month and over a dozen boys working there were found to be aged 13-15, some working in an "illegal sex room." Drug testing also showed a dozen employees tested positive for Yaba. I hope that's not the good work being referred to. It strikes me as being more than a little perverse to condemn paedophiles in other threads, while not hesitating to patronize and recommend bars with this kind of recent history of selling underage sex. With business as slow as it is, surely there are more deserving places for the gay expat community to promote.Have you considered what kind of message a thread like this sends? Quote

Yes, some of the staff tested positive for Yaba. The story I saw did not report a dozen under 13-15 year old working in an illegal sex room. Maybe you saw the report from the Fox affiliate. Quote

You are quite correct that such a report was printed, but the inaccuracies contained in the article make those "facts" highly suspect. I think most will agree that Nice Boys is one of the better run bars in the neighborhood and that those who seek underage boys would not find this bar a good hunting ground. Quote

With all respect Hedda, I have learned that to base one's opinions on what one reads in the Pattaya press (and subsequently published in other rags in the Kingdom) is a waste of time. I do not wish always to refer to this case of the Russian conductor, but the fact is the allegation is he molested a boy, then 14, whose mother came to the authorities 5 months after the event. That and that only. If true, then of course he deserves the punishment that will come to him. However, the Pattaya media went to town in the days following his being charged, with inaccurate tales of his being part of a paedophile ring, of hiring young boys to make videos for circulation on an internet child porn ring, and of renting boys out to visiting foreigners! Several other posters regard this as a classic set-up, but that's going off topic! Quote
Guest HeyGay Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I can confirm, not only by a good friend, you see him in the pictures, that no farangs were Pee Pee tested, but also by the owner and the guy who leases it from him, that No Underage were found on the Premises, as he said, he would not have been able to get back his License if there were. What was true, is 12 staff were found positive with illegal amounts of amphetamine, in their Blood and will be spending the next 3 months in the Monkey House, hope that clears up your confusion, as we all know News Journalists always use their motto, Quote
Guest Hedda Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I think your recall is a little fuzzy. Yes, some of the staff tested positive for Yaba. The story I saw did not report a dozen under 13-15 year old working in an illegal sex room. Maybe you saw the report from the Fox affiliate. Here's what was reported by Pattaya Mail: "Thirteen underage boys were among those arrested during a raid on a Sunee Plaza gay bar by Chonburi Immigration Police. The July 24 crackdown at the Nice Boys a-Go-Go came after an undercover officer attempted to purchase the sexual services of a 13-year-old. Investigators discovered that the club employed 13 boys between ages 13 and 15 and operated an illegal room where sexual acts were performed. The teens were sent to the Child and Women’s Rights Protection office. . . Officers also tested 50 employees and 40 foreign customers for illegal drug use. Twelve of the workers tested positive for methamphetamine use and were arrested on narcotics consumption charges. All the foreigner tested negative and were released." http://www.pattayamail.com/888/news.shtml#hd12 If someone claims those details are wrong, don't you think it's incumbent on them to provide some credible proof of why this bar was shut down ? It seems undisputed that this bar was raided, arrests for underage sex and drugs were made, fines were levied and the bar was itself closed for a certain period for violating the law. To suggest that those facts be ignored because "you can't believe everything you read" is ludicrous. Are we supposed to believe that the police raided this bar for no reason? Most expats complain that the Thai authorities are hypocritical about wanting to eliminate underage sex. But when something is reported as being done, such as the raid here, we are told to ignore the news report as unreliable or - based on what someone's friend told them - there were lots of drugged up employees but none were underage. Let's get serious. Would you hire an accused pedophile you don't personally know to babysit your kids because someone claims the newspaper got the details of his arrest wrong? Maybe the real question that's being ignored here is why the operators of this bar were allowed to reopen at all. That's a horse of a very different color. Have we reached a point where employing a dozen kids high on Yaba is considered business as usual at the gogo ? Quote
Guest Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 All I know is what I saw the past few nights. I did NOT see any boys that looked under 15. I did NOT see any boys that even looked under 18. Every boy I talked to was over 18 and most 20-22. I went there 2 times this week. My experience was the same each time. I do not know what happens after I leave for the night. I am an early person and don't stay out late. I was at the bar the night of the raid. I did not see anyone that looked under 15 that night either. I do know there were people tested for Yaba that night. To say no farang was tested is not accurate. I do not know what the fines were. I do not know the accuracy of the news reports. I knew many of the boys that tested positive for yaba and were sent away for 3 months. They are all back to working. So, don't believe anything you see in print. Judge for yourself. There are only a few gogo bars left in Sunee and I have no problem going to them. If I walk in and see someone that is obviously underage, I'll leave. I won't hold off going into a bar because of past issues. If I did, there would be no bar left in Pattaya to go to. Regardless of what others say, that includes Boyztown (all 3 sois). Quote
Guest RichLB Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Here's what was reported by Pattaya Mail: No one is doubting your ability to read, but one does wonder at your continued zeal to publicize a report that does not gell with the truth. Frankly I can't figure out your agenda other than to muckrake. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Here's what was reported by Pattaya Mail: and operated an illegal room where sexual acts were performed. Quite the sensationalist wording by Pattaya Mail. So they have a shortime room which is quite common in Pattaya. Quote
Guest FanOfThailand Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I was in Sunee Plaza last week and from my observation no bars had underage staff that I could tell and I visited all of the open go go bars. This I must admit was not the case on previous holiday visits to certain go go bars in Sunee. In the past when I would see obvious underage boys in the bar I would leave and not return. I know the owners of these bars change almost as often as do the boys hair styles so I will give them a second chance on my next visit to see if things have changed. I think it will take some time to lose the image of a place to pickup underage boys but if this trend continues it is a positive step in the right direction IMHO. Quote
