He has also sent me a PM about another poster that was very slanderous. I had not asked him for any information about this poster. When I didn't reply to his PM he did not send me another.

I sent you a PM on the GayButton board, not this one.

The PM was in response to a repeated request you posted earlier of another member who did not reply. I did not want to comment in public so I thought the decent thing to do would be to PM you with the information you requested (it is not about a member who posts here, to my knowledge). There are plenty of posters who will verify first-hand that the information is accurate.

I assumed you would appreciate the PM, but it looks like I was wrong, so I apologise if you felt that single PM on the other board was harassing. You could have replied to say so yourself.

First of all, you don't know if he replied to me or not. You assumed that. You also assumed I would want to hear from you. You assume too much. I didn't say it was harassment; I said what you sent to me was slanderous.

Yes, you are right. It was on GBT board not here.

He didn't reply in public. And you actually made a second request for it.

What I sent you does not constitute as slander.

Just in case you think it is any of your business, he did reply to me after my second request, which was asking him to send me PM.

Maybe slander in the true sense is not correct, but it was malicious and not necessary or requested of you.

Anyone who wants to see what he wrote to me can PM me and I will send it to you.

Guest beachlover

I don't believe it was malicious. It simply stated facts.

It wasn't necessary or requested that you bring a PM from another board onto this one but you still did it didn't you? So what's your point?

I don't think I should go into it here as I don't want to be accused of personal attacks. Just get over yourself.

Don't you think you should take your own advice? Since you have:

(1) brought it up here yourself

(2) labeled something as slander when it wasn't

(3) labeled something as malicious when it stated facts

(4) made an unsolicited offer to even forward it to members here

(5) refused to acknowledge it was a genuine attempt to be helpful in response to a request you made public.

This has polluted this thread enough. So if you need to respond further, I suggest a new thread or not at all.

Just get over yourself.

I am sure most, if not all of us, agree with lvdkeyes suggestion. Just lighten up with your comments beachlover and treat others on this Board with the respect they deserve as long term posters. If you wish to contribute, that is fine. But make an effort to contribute in the spirit which has made this Board a success. And in case you have not thought about it, it is the posters and the posts which have made this Board the success it is. Don't even think about trying to change this Board by making it similar to others you post on.

So have a good night's sleep. Not that there is very much night left where you are. Your last post was on this thread was at 2.31 a.m. your time. You are a young lad compared to many of us. You really should try to get a full 8 hours sleep.

PS: In the light of lvdkeyes comments which follow this post, I have amended my opening sentences hopefully to make it more clear

I was a little confused as to whom this was addressed at first, but after reading all of it I know.

the respect they deserve as long term posters...

My last few posts above have been quite respectful. I even offered an apology.

make an effort to contribute in the spirit which has made this Board a success.

I'm fine with that suggestion. But do you think continuing with petty and unsubstantiated snipes helps?

I would think, with the new contest being introduced, people want to move on and have fun... rather than continue with bashing and berating.

Don't even think about trying to change this Board by making it similar to others you post on.

What makes you think I want or have made any attempt to make this board similar to others I post on? The only board where I may have had any significant influence is SGT, where the moderation was non-existent and inconsistent at times. Regrettable but true.

I'm waiting for an e-mail to come from an employee so I can check a deliverable and provide instructions before I go to sleep... it's a bitch.

A fair proportion of the 450 plus posts made up to now.

Well, it's now 3:21 am. So I guess you must have employees presently overseas. I frequently have to wait up for conference calls with New York and Los Angeles. Life can indeed be a bitch!

Not sure how that indicates a desire to change the board. And to be fair, I'm sure 1,000-2,000 other posts were made during the same period and I only posted as long as other posters, like yourself, were replying... but this is in the past. You can keep digging it up or we can move on.

No, two are still in the office. I went home. It's an urgent project so I need to ensure there's a clean handover to the next guy who starts at 6:30am... yep, tight timing.

Timing for US-initiated con-calls are always a bitch huh?

I don't keep track and it's far too late for me to go back and count. I'm happy to do that tomorrow but not tonight. However, it is my opinion (I stress opinion) that 2,000 posts in total since August 23rd when you first started posting in earnest is a gross exaggeration. Indeed, I'd put money on there being less than 1,000 "other posts" in that period. Like to make a small wager - with the winner donating the money to a charity? I'm game for 3,000 Baht.

OMG how many boards does this guy post to on a daily basis.475 post in 6 weeks plus a shit load on Sawatdee, and GTT and now gay button and how many other boards.

(Edited by Admin)

Why does he not pick one board and saturate that. Give us a break.

I'll pass on the bet. I can't be arsed to count the posts of the ten or more members during that period.

I would however, be interested to see what GayGuySac's post count for it was. I'm sure his post count was either close to or exceeded my post count. That's why the abuse surprises me.

if I was a moderator on this board, which I have no desire to be, I would certainly make this post invisible. I do not see how it helps the board at all.

May I suggest, that if you want to argue, you consider doing it on SGT. I hope this can be an end to the arguing and we can get back to good solid posts.

You may not be "arsed" to count them (whatever that expression means), but I have said I am perfectly happy to do so. Why not take up the bet? You will recall it was you who made the assertion that there have been - in your words - "1,000-2,000 other posts" since August 23rd when you first starting posting in earnest. All I ask is that you put your money where your mouth is. After all, it's only around US$100? Neither of us would gain anything, but a charity would. My money's still on the table.

paulg - it's not 6 weeks. Apart from a few posts, all the rest have been made since August 23rd!

I wouldn't disagree with making it invisible or moving it.

lvdkeyes brought up an incident completely unrelated to this board and made false accusations. So I naturally responded, as ugly as it makes the place look.

This has nothing to do with SGT, aside from the fact it is down.

(Arsed = another expression for "bothered")

How do I know the count will be accurate? I would need to count them myself. As would you (unless you trusted me to do it).

Oh! For goodness sake! You make it sound as though it's a major mental exercise. It's the simplest thing in the world. I'll do the work, make my count and post it here. You can either trust me or not - that is your prerogative. If you do not, then you make your own count, or nominate someone to do it for you. Again if you don't trust me, between us there is unlikely to be much difference. We can then split it, if necessary. Or even do a recount. It's not difficult - unless you know that you posted an exaggerated figure in error and do not want a count to take place, in my view. If I am wrong, not only will the charity get the cash, but you will get an apology.

Well, I did invisible a few posts a few days ago and you would not believe the outrage. I had messages to my Inbox, extra postings criticizing the decisions, etc.

In the end, it is best to just let people have their say and hope that more than one person needs to have the last word. If so, I hope my words are the last one (I love having the last word). And, I'd love for this thread to disappear into oblivion.

All that being said, PattayaMale, you would make a fantastic moderator! Can I nominate you?

I'm not surprised. It's fine when it's somebody else's post disappearing, but when one's own post disappears, now you would think you committed a crime that should merit you a death by slow torture penalty. I've lost count of how many times I was accused of deleting posts because "I disagreed with GB." That, actually, was never the reason. Not even once. But try to convince those people they had written an inappropriate post, which always was the actual reason. Good luck.

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one way to deal with the kinds of responses I know you received. It's not giving a good goddam whether they like it or not.

You wouldn't want a charity to be denied a US$100 donation, surely?

It is a major mental exercise! I don't want to sit here and do a count of every poster who has posted anything since 23 August.

I did a quick mental calculation and came up with this... let's say GayGuySac did around 400 posts (close to the same amount I did), you did 200 and lvdkeyes did 100. Add to that a bunch of other posters like TJ, GT, GB, Astro, PM, Bob and such... the figure is probably closer to 1,000 than it is to 2,000... Point is, my posts contributed less than 40% of the total posts during that period. I was far from the only one posting more than normal.

If you want to do a detailed count, fine... please do so... I expect to see a detailed breakdown.

But I'm not entering into a wager since (1) I don't want to spend an hour counting them myself (2) I think the length of the discussion voids the wager since you may have counted them already anyway [petty point] (3) don't want to fiddle around with making a donation some place without compromising privacy.

I did. Certain individuals keep bringing it up and prompting a reply.

Well if ever there was a lamer bunch of reasons for chickening out of a wager - one that would prove the accuracy or otherwise of a post, I'll be surprised. No, I have not counted anything. That's a lousy jibe!

Checking posts made within a certain period is almost child's play. All you do is go through each thread since August 23 and note the posters' names. Then go to the members list, click on their posts list and check how many posts were made between August 23 and the day the wager was made. You will then have your total in a matter of seconds. THAT is a major mental exercise???

As I have stated, I am happy to "do a detailed" count. But I offered to do that as part of a wager. You decline the wager because you realise your statement was probably inaccurate. In my view, your mental calculations are also over the mark.
