Remembering a true friend of Gay Pattaya...Boxer

A thread on GB brought to mind

a great and caring man - Brian Wigley, as Boxer Travels

created an album of Gay Pattaya and Thailand happenings

unmatched to date.

I miss him dearly and am so grateful he passed our way in life.

He was a giving, compassionate and caring gentleman.

Whenever anyone asked about a business, event, construction or

happening in Pattaya - Boxer was there - with camera in hand -

to report within hours to all on the message boards.

Such a gentle giant of man...he is missed!

RIP Boxer -

Just seeing Boxer's board brought back a lot of memories..and a lot of good times. Boxer was everywhere at events and the pictures were posted for all in a matter of hours. I especially remember pride day in Phuket. We had a lot of fun and he went way too early in life...he is missed.

I believe Brisn was one of the first to be allowed to take pictures at many Gay Venues. I believe when he started he actually smeared the faces of farangs in the audience out of respect for their privacy. Not all visitors to Gay Thailand were "out" in their home town. Brian understood this. He was a wonderful guy.

Thanks, Jim, for resurrecting some good memories. Brian was a genuinely nice guy. When I hear his name - and David in Pattya's too - I remember two guys that were positively involved in the gay scene in Pattaya (and elsewhere), two guys that enjoyed going out of their way to help newbes to the scene (including myself), and who enjoyed participating on some prior gay message boards. Great guys.

PM,

I believe that David in Pattaya (David Ferguson)was the first...

and that following David's passing, Boxer (Brian Wigley)took up

the gauntlet and continued on until his passing.

Printer Graham under GayAffairsPattaya and the PGWeekly Report,

continued on the fine traditions set by both David & Brian.

Outstanding Gay community service to us all...

by three fine fellas.

You have to include Gaybutton in the group. He had a wonderful website just chocked

full of information.

I hope he'll add some of that material when he gets time. Those articles were

an interesting read!

I agree Jason. GB original board was the best information I ever got about Thailand and the gay scene. It I hadn't discovered his board, I might not be here now.

Found Boxer's old photo site and most of it is still quite functional. Since we were talking about him, thought I'd show a photo of him from his site:

And let's not forget GB's huge contributions to this Board. The amount of useful information he has passed on to anyone who asked is quite staggering. And whilst he himself has passed over to pastures new :o , he is thankfully still with us and contributing here from time to time.

Bob,

Thanks for posting the photo of Boxer.

Can you post a link to the website you used

to see Boxer's collection of photos and reports?

Is it different from the one I posted in the OP?

Also, do you recall whatever happened to David in Pattaya's

photo collection? I will ask Idaho, who was The Gay Pattayan's

sidekick in preparing the PG Weekly Report if he knows.

Another collection of beautiful photos was that of our dear

(senior moment, pardon me)...who adored the Thai Muscle Men.

Oh my, somebody help with his name...Thank you!

Such fine fellas...all have passed...but dearly remembered.

It's the same one, TJ. The photo is from the one section of Boxer's birthday trip to the Disney theme park in Hong Kong.

Yes, dear Wowpow...

Terry was his first name...

a true gentleman and surely loved his Thai muscle men :p

He also posted under another name...???

I wonder where his vast and awesome collection of photos went?

He had posted many on GayTingTong...an ardent poster.
