TotallyOz Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I had a great time meeting so many people. The company was great. The stories kept me entertained. Thank you to all who came. A special thanks to Ya and his staff for hosting a great party. They did a fantastic job and were very in tune to what we needed all night. Salt and Pepper catered the event and IMHO, the food was great. Everyone seem to enjoy it and the Chicken Wraps were a big hit. Thanks to Scooby who paid for the food for the evening. It was great that they suggested we have this before I leave LOS. Several of us wandered into Nice Boys after the event to take some M & M's. The boys loved them. Again, it was great to meet so many of you. I hope we do this again. Quote
PattayaMale Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I really appreciate the Meet and Greet hosted by Scooby and GayThailand (the person). It really was great meeting people I have "talked with" on the forums but never met. YaYa was a perfect venue for the party. The waiters were very attentive. The pictures, gay themed also but a gay spin on the event. There was plenty of food and drink. And very good food for sure! The chicken wraps were very good as was the other 8 or 9 dishes! When GayThailand said he planned for 20, I think it was a typo. There was food for more than 50. Also the chocolates, M&M's, cashew nuts. All was great. How does a Board like this accommodate all the other posters in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, etc. I was glad this event was in Pattaya, but if one is ever arranged in Bangkok, I hope many of us can get there too. Thanks again! Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I certainly enjoyed it and for me it was also nice to put to rest the absurd rumor that's been going around that there is some sort of animosity between GT and me. I like Pattayamale's idea of meet-and-greets elsewhere in Thailand. He's right. No law says it always has to be Pattaya. All it takes is for someone in other areas of Thailand to take the initiative to say let's have a meet-and-greet and here's when and where we'll have it. It doesn't take a sponsor. Everyone can pay his own way. Quote
Guest Yaya Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 It was truly a pleasure for YaYa Bar to host the gentlemen of GayThailand's Meet and Greet. What a wonderful, great group of men. Our waiters were like siamese twins -- beside themselves -- with so many hansum falangs in attendance. GT was the perfect host and the board members were the perfect customers. Thank you all for the nice comments. It was our pleasure. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Well, I guess I could host a meet and greet in Ubon Ratchathani. I will just pick any old phone booth so we have something everyone can fit into easily!! Glad you all had a good time...wish I could have been there!! Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I concur with all of the above. A big thank you to Scooby and GT!!!!!!!!!!!! The food was delicious, the chicken wrap is an especially good party food as it is easy to eat. M&Ms were a nice touch and I am sure the eye candy is quite tasty too! Was my first visit to YaYa and an extremely nice bar. I sampled their cocktail of the week, the Chang Mudslide and twas superb. Think next week is a potent Phillipine Slammer of sorts. For u guys who use IPhones, YaYa has a wifi connection. But most of all it was good to put some names to faces. A really good group of guys this forum is! Thanks again to our hosts! Quote
Guest penguin Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I had a lovely time. Many thanks to Gay Thailand for the organisation - the food was great. It was very nice as a first time visitor to put faces to the forum names and to be given such a kind welcome. I had some interesting chats and heard some great stories And Yaya's Bar is lovely. Relaxed, friendly, comfortable, great drinks. And I think I have a crush of one sort or another on every member of staff Quote
Guest Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 When GayThailand said he planned for 20, I think it was a typo. There was food for more than 50. Also the chocolates, M&M's, cashew nuts. All was great. Well, I didn't want a riot on my hands so I didn't really tell everyone it was really a full meal. Sorry guys but the menu changed a few times before I settled on what to have delivered. I will say for those of you that have parties, Salt and Pepper is great if you are looking for Thai cooking. I certainly enjoyed it and for me it was also nice to put to rest the absurd rumor that's been going around that there is some sort of animosity between GT and me. Please oh please don't listen to the gossip queens. There is no animosity between me and GB in the least. I am very supportive of his new board and post there as well. It was truly a pleasure for YaYa Bar to host the gentlemen of GayThailand's Meet and Greet. What a wonderful, great group of men. Thanks Ya. I agree, it was the cream of the crop! Well, I guess I could host a meet and greet in Ubon Ratchathani. I will just pick any old phone booth so we have something everyone can fit into easily!! I would love a party in Ubon. Was my first visit to YaYa and an extremely nice bar. I sampled their cocktail of the week, the Chang Mudslide and twas superb. Think next week is a potent Phillipine Slammer of sorts. For u guys who use IPhones, YaYa has a wifi connection. Yaya has done a great job with the bar and their service. I hope it keeps going strong. Between Yaya, Duc's Bar, Corner Bar and Come In Bar, that soi has some heavyweight bars! How were the chicken wraps made? They were made by my favorite restaurant in Pattaya, Salt and Pepper in Day Night 2. It is right across from the Mosaik apartments and on the corner. It is an open air Thai place with great prices. On their menu, I think it is called Chicken Wraps or Russian Wraps. It has a nice piece of chicken inside with some lettuce and sauce and wrapped around a piece of pita bread. They were quite tasty. It was very nice as a first time visitor to put faces to the forum names and to be given such a kind welcome. I had some interesting chats and heard some great stories It was great to meet you as well. For a first time guy, you fit in very well. I hope you do more of the get together meetings! Quote
