"I come today to give my statement to police as I have been charged for terrorism and myriad offences - this is going to be a long story," he said upon arriving at the CSD. Sondhi said he suspected police trying to throw frame-up charges at him and the yellow shirts. He vowed to fight by filing counter lawsuits against police to the full extent of the law. .............read more.. Amazing Thailand! tj ----------------- Quote
Guest Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Sondhi, yellow shirts report to police Good. But, it is a little late isn't it? Does anything actually think anything at all will come of this? Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 As we say, "better late than never." Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 It is just a way to keep their name and their cause in the headlines and on the TV. I think way too little, and very much way too late. Quote
KhorTose Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Good. But, it is a little late isn't it? Does anything actually think anything at all will come of this? Yes, after the trail and the hearing Sondi and his group will no longer be yellow shirts. They will now be wearing white shirts dyed from the giant white wash they will have gone through. Quote
Guest beachlover Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Christ... Two years later? I wonder what did more damage to the Thai economy... The yellow shirt airport seizure or the red shirt protests. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Christ... Two years later? I wonder what did more damage to the Thai economy... The yellow shirt airport seizure or the red shirt protests. I am going to take a shot at the answer...maybe. The airport seizure caused more immediate and direct damage to the economy, but the red shirt activities and following riot will cause more long term damage. Quote
Guest beachlover Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I think it will be really hard to measure. The Bangkok Protests were much more graphic, with the dozens of burning buildings and army action played out live on TV and all. But the airport closures were extremely serious... cutting logistical lines to the country would have done immediate massive damage. But a lot of investment decisions on manufacturing in Thailand, airline routes and such made afterwards would have factored in this risk... seeing as this was the second time airports had been blockaded. Guest GaySacGuy Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 . seeing as this was the second time airports had been blockaded. When then were the first and second blockades of BKK airport??? Quote
Guest beachlover Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 My bad... maybe it wasn't BKK airport. But I do recall there being two incidents where tourists were prevented from traveling due to disruption from protests. There was this main incident. And I think before this there was another incident... it might have involved blockading trains or something to do with Phuket. I can't remember. Quote

One was more than enough. I believe the train snafu was an employee strike. Quote
