Cheap Airfares to Thailand

Recommended Posts

In another thread, JoeM posted: "Gaybutton's site listed Rhonda at Norcross Travel. US Toll free number 1-888-888-7157 or the toll number 1-770-934-2777. I have used her many times to book to Thailand. She consistently has the cheapest fair."

I have also purchased many R/T tickets from Rhonda. However, last year I found a ticket that was $250 USD cheaper than Ronda's price!

So I bought my ticket (coach) from ThaiFly. Their website is at: http://www.thaifly.com/Home/index.php

They have offices in Chicago, IL USA and Bangkok; their contact info is found at: http://www.thaifly.com/TH/contact_us.php

Smegma, thanks for starting a new thread. I am always on the lookout for places to get a better fare.

You misquoted me a little bit. Norcross Travel toll free number is 1-888-888-7157. For folks calling in the US, this is a free call. For folks calling outside the US, or just wanting to pay for the call, the number is 1-770-934-2777.

I have booked with Rhonda to many times to remember the count. However, on two occasions, I did find a cheaper fair and booked with another agent. On one other occasion, Rhonda matched the cheaper fare so I gave her the booking.

You guys seem to have better luck than I do.. When I check with various travel agencys, the above included, I always seem to get the best rate from Eva from their website.. I depart from Las Vegas-Lax-Bkk...

Wonder why that is..

The EVA Website fares shown are without taxes and surcharges. When you price with a travel agent the total includes everything. Months before my trip I will visit the EVA website and get the their best price, THEN I contact my travel agent and with this information do my booking. My TA alway saves me 40-60 USD.

I am not sure about cheap but I do know that I always use NWA. I book a full coach fare, normally about 2300 US. That then gives me the ability to upgrade to first class for 30k miles. I then make the trip. Since I am Platinum, I get the full coach miles, which is more than regular price miles plus the platinum. By the end of the trip, I have more miles than I used on the 30k miles for the trip so my milage never goes down.

NWA has a great site that is easy to use. Often the upgrades are not available from the city I travel from. So, I check on the net and try SF, Detroit, NY and Minn. When I find the one that has the upgrade both ways, I call them and get them to book it for me. Once I have the first class ticket it is easy to change. I have never not been able to change the flights for a more convenient date or city.

I know this is not a cheap way to do it, but if you want a good way to travel first class, it works well. :)

Very clever of you and well worth the trouble!! The 2300 does seem high though, you must be flying from America's heartland. Typically a NW coach fare from SFO to BKK is about the same as EVA's Deluxe Economy. I 'm an ex-NW flyer having converted to EVA and have loads of NW ff miles remaining. Years ago my vacations to LOS were shorter and every day there was precious. EVA (and other Asian carriers) effectively gave me one additional day in LOS with their preferred departure/arrival schedule. Other plusses are newer aircraft (than NW), no bus gates at Narita or BKK, no Narita period and superior cabin service.
