TotallyOz Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 PattayaMale was telling me about a mattress top that a friend of his bought from Fly Now and I went to check it out as I always have a hard time sleeping on hard mattresses. I have bought a few mattresses over the years and left them in the places I've rented but something that is portable is really a great item for me. The item is called a Memory Foam topper and it was 5800 baht. It was a little hard to get it back to Pattaya on a motorcycle but we managed fine. Fly Now is on Sumkumvit past the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and right after the Indian Taj Mahal village. You need to let it open up for a day before you get full use of it. But, I let it sit for about 5-6 hours and laid down an took my afternoon nap. While I usually nap for about 10 minutes, I woke up 2 hours later. My oh my, this thing is great! It feels fantastic to lay on and makes a world of difference in the comfort of my bed. I had been looking for something just like this for a few weeks and was almost going to buy a real full Memory Foam mattress in Central but the price was crazy. Having dinner with PattayaMale and he just brought up this mattress. It was a great coincidence. Thanks PattayaMale for the suggestion. I can't wait to have a full night's sleep tonight! Quote
PattayaMale Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I know 2 people now that have purchased this foam topper. Both have told me they are fantastic. I did not remember the price being that high, but checking with my other friend who purchased one the other day, it is the right price. I was told that even putting it on the floor for occasional guests works well too. Quote
Guest Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 It was a great night's sleep for me, the BF and a special guest. I thought we need to break in the mattress the right way and so we had a slumber party. Don't you just love Thailand? For anyone who needs something that will soften the bed, make it curve to your body and relax you, this mattress is great. If you need directions to the outlet, let me know. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 The product sounds great, but I imagine that it would be impossible to find here in Ubon...would it fold up enough to transport in a suitcase from Pattaya to here???? Quote

Jason1988 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Tossing and turning is your body's way of searching for the comfort level it needs for proper sleep. Some foreign made mattress toppers do not have to pass the same chemical or fire standards that United States foam manufactures do. These foreign products often contain nasty chemicals that can cause allergic reactions and are not safe to sleep on. If you do get a reaction get rid of the mattress topper as soon as possible. 95% of the mattress toppers are safe. Quote
kokopelli Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Jason raises a good point. Where are these toppers made? I heard that this particular store was owned by Russians. Am I right, wrong or what? Quote
Guest RichLB Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I had a friend bring over a 4 inch (it might have been the 6 inch one) memory foam topper from the USA. I really liked it but ended up giving it away to a friend who was having back trouble - which the memory foam appears to have solved. The reason I gave up on the memory foam had nothing to do with the topper itself, it was the fitted sheets. They just didn't fit and were constantly coming out into a ball during the night. I also found it a little hot to sleep on. But, if you have aches and pains on a Thai mattress, I'd suggest giving one a try. Quote
