t0oL1 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 https://www.denverpost.com/2024/07/13/the-secret-service-is-investigating-how-a-gunman-who-shot-and-injured-trump-was-able-to-get-so-close/ The U.S. Secret Service is investigating how a gunman armed with an AR-style rifle was able to get close enough to shoot and injure former President Donald Trump at a rally Saturday in Pennsylvania, a monumental failure of one the agency’s core duties. The gunman, who was killed by Secret Service personnel, fired multiple shots at the stage from an “elevated position outside of the rally venue,” the agency said. An Associated Press analysis of more than a dozen videos and photos taken at the Trump rally, as well as satellite imagery of the site, shows the shooter was able to get astonishingly close to the stage where the former president was speaking. A video posted to social media and geolocated by the AP shows the body of a man wearing gray camouflage lying motionless on the roof of a manufacturing plant just north of the Butler Farm Show grounds, where Trump’s rally was held. The roof was less than 150 meters (yards) from where Trump was speaking, a distance from which a decent marksman could reasonably hit a human-sized target. For reference, 150 meters is a distance at which U.S. Army recruits must hit a scaled human-sized silhouette to qualify with the M16 assault rifle in basic training. The AR-15, like the shooter at the Trump rally had, is the semi-automatic civilian version of the military M16. The Secret Service didn’t have anybody at a late-night news conference where FBI and Pennsylvania State Police officials briefed reporters on the shooting investigation. FBI Special Agent in Charge Kevin Rojek said it was “surprising” that the gunman was able to fire at the stage before he was killed. Quote
vinapu Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Glad to hear Americans love with guns continues. I happen to be in USA on that Saturday , watched a lot of their TV and all that hypocrisy of those who cried about no place of violence in democratic society was truly disgusting. Lunacy about misinterpreted Second Amendment continues and no doubt in future we will be entertained with those spectacles. Trump as president did not lift a finger nor even spoke about need to restrict access to the guns so got taste of his own medicine. I feel sorry for that innocent bystander shot on the spot. USA unique way of reducing overpopulation is still in full swing. floridarob, Mavica, reader and 1 other 4 Quote

One of my classmates , hippie type of 'make love not war " kind, after moving to USA, Buffalo NY of all places , three years later when I visited him turned out to be proud owner of two guns. Transformation shocked me more than actual sign of those pistols. And of course old NRA argument of people are shooting , not guns and that knife is also deadly weapon was presented. The reality is like the "fire triangle" we are taught in fire safety courses: to start a fire you need fuel, oxidizer and heat. Remove any one and the result is no fire. With firearms there's also a triangle: the weapon, the person firing it, and the person getting shot. Same logic applies, but ease of removal is different. vinapu 1 Quote

If it was , other countries would follow the same. It's just folklore, bloody remnants of lawless and long gone past. Hopefully eventually it will fade away the same like quadrigas gave way to Fiat 600 in Rome. Quote

Perhaps I should. It seems this website is controlled and frequented by American far left extremists who condone murder. And here I was thinking this website was about Thailand? How foolish of me. Either way, I hope Trump wins the election. At this point I think it's done. I can watch all these woke idiot tears and laugh. I can't wait! unicorn, EmmetK and Lucky 1 2 Quote
