TotallyOz Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 We are working on cleaning up the entire site. This is not something that will happen overnight. It is going to take us a few months to get things working the way we want. We have started changing things and working on code that will make the site even better. You may notice that we have removed the Chat and News Links from the top menu bar. The Chat was not popular and outdated. The Calendar and News area have not been updated in years. We believe that most who would look at those area would be reading the forums anyway. We have removed the Chat and News Links. We have also directed the Calendar area to the Forum Calendar. We will work on finding a way to keep the Calendar updated so the events are easily accessible to all. The Nuts and Bolts area have been totally revamped. There are also several pages with links that we are working on. We have placed a much brighter link to the Message Boards on the home page as we want be sure everyone who comes to the site knows about it but also sees the value we place on the boards. We continue to ask for advice on ways to improve the site and make it better! Thank you for your support and encouragement! Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I have a couple suggestions for improving the profiles on the main web page. Obviously many of the people who posted profiles want to be contacted. If it's not already done that way, I suggest contact messages be sent by both PM and Email. Also, if there is a way to browse through the all the profiles, I've never found it. If there is a way, it needs to be made clear. If there is no way currently to do that, now you have a new project to work on. Quote
TotallyOz Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Gaybutton, we hope to completely revamp the entire profile area. It will make it easier for you to contact the guys listed. Thank you for your suggestion. Please keep making comments and suggestions. Hugs, Scooby Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Please keep making comments and suggestions. Ok, then here's another one. I think it's a glitch. Usually I go directly to the message board. Sometimes I find myself already logged in and sometimes not. I always choose the option to keep myself logged in at all times. Sometimes it holds and sometimes it doesn't. If I am on the message board and click the HOME button to go to the main web site, I have to log in all over again. The log in doesn't hold. Then, when I return to the message board, I still have to log in again. In other words, there is some sort of a software problem with the log in. If it helps, I always use the Firefox browser. Quote
TotallyOz Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Thank you. I will try to figure out why this is happening. One question, does this happen after you close and reopen your browser? Or is the http://gaythailand.com site open on your browser the entire time? In other words, there is some sort of a software problem with the log in. If it helps, I always use the Firefox browser. Gaybutton Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Thank you. I will try to figure out why this is happening. One question, does this happen after you close and reopen your browser? Or is the http://gaythailand.com site open on your browser the entire time? That's difficult to answer because as far as remaining logged into the message board I never know when it's going to happen. I close off the tab for this board when I am finished, but whether I return before closing the browser itself, or return later after I close and reopen my browser, or when I restart my computer, clean out the cache, or whatever I do, I never know of I'll still be logged in when I return to this board. Sometimes I am and sometimes I'm not. It appears to be an intermittent problem. The first thing I would look at is if your end of the cookies is working the way it should. Whether I find myself still logged in or not when I return to this board sounds like it's probably a cookies problem. Quote
PattayaMale Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 My biggest disappoint with GayThailand has always had to do with the login. Most (all I use)boards will remember me and automatically let me enter. On this site, I must click login in each time. My username and password are remembered but I must still click login. Since the top part of the page that features all the escorts delays my going to the message board, sometimes up to 10 seconds, it is annoying. It is as annoying to get a message that says, "If you don't want to wait click here". I don't believe anyone really likes to wait and read the message and then click each time I come to the site. Also, I like the fact that a can receive an email alerting me that some one has replied to a topic I am following. When I click the link in my email it takes me to the new post. That is good, BUT after I read the new post, I can not reply with out scrolling to the top of the page and again need to press "login"., and then waiting for the message board to open again 5 - 10 seconds. This has frustrated so much that many times I just don't post. I am happy that you will be looking in to this. Quote

Using google chrome or IE, after I am logged in and close the tab and then return later using a new tab, I was logged in, but it took me to the home page and then I had to click on the message board page. I did this not from a bookmark but typed in Gaythaind.com into the broweser. Quote
TMax Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Well I don't have a problem with the log in but I would like to say that I do like what is happening (and some of the plans)and look forward to the finished product. Now what I would love to see are ideas for getting more Thai guys posting. Quote
