American Politics Never Ceases to Amaze!

From CNN this morning. A son of Don Quayle is running for Congress. His main slogan, "Barrack Obama is the worst President in American history." Well, zero marks for originality, but I guess some credit for his grammar and syntax. ;)

And if that tidbit is not enough to get the talk-show hosts salivating, Levi Johnson is running for Mayor of Wasilla, his one-time-thought-to-be-Mum-in-law's post. His race to the Mayor's office will become a televised reality show.

And I thought Thai politics was rock bottom!

Sadly, you have a point. However, do not forget that Blair thought Bush was a great president. I often wonder if Daddy bush picked Dan Quayle as VP so that no one would see how dumb he was. George Jr. should have done the same, but Afred E. Newman was unavailable, and John McCain already had eyes for Sarah Palin.

Quayle and Johnson aren't any worse than a few others...Sharon Engle is running for Senator from Nevada against Harry Reid, and she wants to privatize Social Security and end Medicare. One add was about the huge City Center project in Las Vegas, which Harry Reid stepped into when it was about to fail, and got them financing, saving 22,000 jobs for Nevada. When asked if she would have saved City Center, she said "I would not have saved City Center. It is not my job as a US Senator to create jobs in Nevada!"..Not too smart.

There are also others...Rand Paul, etc.etc.
