pong Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 there are already many gay-listings sites, like f.e.: dreadedned (often VERY out of date), dragoncastle in Thai: tmmsociety, thaimalemassage, Blogs: shamelessmack.blogspot, ricequeendiary, and they offer links to many more The major prob with all thee link-lists to me appears to have them regularly updated: the places in Thaild open/close in a second and without any warning. TotallyOz Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 I have added all the additions so far to the top Master List. Help us keep the list growing. We would like to have all sites about gay life in Thailand listed in the list. I also added a section for Blogs. So, if you know of other good blogs about like in Thailand, let us know. Quote

Guest fountainhall Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 For sites in Thai but with useful links, I already mentioned in another post - http://www.thaigmc.com/ Also very useful since it provides many links to saunas, massage, discos, cinemas, theatres etc. is - http://www.gthai.com And for even more detail, check the listing at the foot of this site. You will have to click through each because some are not now active, but it seems pretty comprehensive. http://www.tmmsociety.net/index.php?topic= Quote

ChristianPFC Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I follow these two blogs: http://toogaybangkok.blogspot.com/ http://bangkokofthemind.blogspot.com/ This one is now discontinued, as the owner no longer lives in Thailand, but the blog is still online: http://bitchofbangkok.blogspot.com/ Quote
Bob Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Are blogs the same as websites? What's referred to as a "blog" (the word "blog" is a shortened version of "web log") is sort of a running commentary or diary online. Some websites are only blogs while others have blogs as one of its features. Quote

Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Maybe I am over reacting, but I don't think it is appropriate to have pics of young boys posted on a gay website. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Maybe I am over reacting, but I don't think it is appropriate to have pics of young boys posted on a gay website. With all the media attention which pedophilia has had in recent months, I must agree. It's a great and a worthwhile charity. But there would have to be a very clear and good reason for having it permanently linked to a gay website. Quote
Guest Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 This is no longer an adult website. There are no links to porn on it. From my understanding, all have been removed. That simply makes this a gay community. Do you mean that it is not OK for gays to have a link to an orphanage or a charity that involves children? If so, is it OK for an straight site to do the same? Guest beachlover Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I think it's just a matter of being tactful. They Pattaya Street Kids thing is heavily promoted on GTT. I'm not so sure it's a good idea there since the website is covered in porn. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 this a gay community. Do you mean that it is not OK for gays to have a link to an orphanage or a charity that involves children? If so, is it OK for an straight site to do the same? It's more a question of sensitivity than anything else - and maybe I am being over-sensitive. For example, if you open the Pattaya Street Kids site, there is a lovely photo of 3 smiling young boys. Some people will put 2 and 2 together and make 6 - gay website (even without porn), kids charity with photo of young boys, why only this charity being included . . . I don't need to say more. Now if there were 2 boys and 2 girls in that photo, then that to me would be different and more acceptable. The other small issue I have is that this is very much a UK-based charity. I fully accept it does magnificent work but its bank account (as advertised on the site) is in the UK, donations are to be made to a UK account (unless I have missed something, in which case please do correct me), and tax-deductabliilty is only for UK tax payers. I have no idea about the charity tax laws here in Thailand, but I suspect there is some tax relief for charitable donations, perhaps over a certain amount. So if that charity is going to be included, then I think in fairness one or two other Thai-based charities must be included - with bank accounts in Thailand so it is easier for readers of this site to contribute if they so wish. Guest lvdkeyes Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 It is heartening to know that I am not the only one who thinks this is not a good idea. The str8 world already thinks gays are all pedophiles, so why give them ammunition? Quote
Guest Doug Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Maybe there shouldn't be any gay websites. Maybe we should stay hidden. Can you imagine - someday gays may even want to marry and adopt children. Homos are not equal to heteros. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Maybe there shouldn't be any gay websites. Maybe we should stay hidden. Can you imagine - someday gays may even want to marry and adopt children. Homos are not equal to heteros. So what prompted that little outburst? My comments - if that is what you are referring to - have nothing whatever to do with "homos" and "heteros", to use your words. They are to do with perceptions and sensibilities in a country which is a great deal more conservative than most people who do not live here think. Do you live in Thailand, Doug? You will have noted, I hope, that I said listing one UK-based charity on this site might look odd. Why not have a Thai-based charity with a Thai bank account so that Thais can get the benefit of any tax deductions? Is that not what most people would expect on a Thai-based website? Better still, I actually suggested having 3 children's charities listed here. Or did you not read that? Perhaps you can enlighten me as to what on earth this as to do with "homos" and "heteros" - for I totally fail to see it? Quote
